A week of birthdays in Elliot Heads and surrounding areas

Two weeks of birthdays, beaches and bush camps. When 4 family members have birthdays almost all in the same week why not celebrate in style. Poppy came to visit! We hadn't seen poppy for 2 years! He was well due for visit so we booked him a flight to Queensland for his birthday, and it so happens to be his daughters and 2 of his grandsons birthdays in the same week.

People used to tell me how much faster the years go when you have children, the years went fast enough for me without children, now a year almost feels like a day!

A mind blowing week with our nephew turning 18, and one of our sons turning 7! Where have all those years gone! One minute they are in your arms being gently rocked to sleep, the next they have their P plates and are driving you around.

A glorious few days at Elliot Heads and then another few in the lovely towns of Agnes Waters and Miara.

What do you get an 18yo man for his birthday gift? These days is hard to think of, let alone buy a gift for an 18 year old. Money is one thing they will always need, however for something keepsake and tangible it can be quite tricky. So I decided to put my artistic skills into practice and draw a picture of my nephew on his first day of driving after he got his P plates. A memorable and proud moment not only for himself but those who know how hard he worked to achieve this.

The beautiful rock pools at Eliot Heads, so much fun activities in nature for the kids to learn from and explore.

It was such a lovely week for Pop to come visit and celebrate, although it took me awhile to get my head around the amount of years that have slipped by, the excitement of Pop coming to visit, all the birthdays and of course the nephew getting his P plates, made for a busy yet rewarding time for him and us.

Farm stays, hip camps, places with plenty of room and plenty of things to explore are our kind of places to stay when we book in somewhere. Caravan parks are often cramped and the kids are forever being told to be quiet and sit still. It's great for kids to learn to be respectful of others but it's not great for adults to expect kids to be robots that sit in front of a screen and not make noise or ride their bikes when there is space to do so.

A great couple of weeks, exploring new places, learning new things, and travelling our wonderful country with family.
