Happy Friday, amazing people!

The rain and thunderstorms have been relentless, making it feel like we're in for a never-ending wet spell. Personally, I have this intense aversion to lightning and thunder; they just set off a wave of anxiety and headaches for me. It's funny how some people find the sound of rain and thunder calming, while for me, it's like a full-blown stress-inducing symphony. With all this chaos outside, I found myself tiptoeing around the house, hesitant to power up any of my gadgets, like the TV or laptop. It's like a constant battle between wanting to be productive and the fear of potential electrical mishaps. Despite feeling a bit unproductive, I guess it's better to err on the side of caution, right?

Now, here I am, in the midst of the afternoon, and the rain is making a dramatic comeback. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that our internet and power hold up because, let's face it, dealing with outages during the rainy season is like a recurring nightmare. It's frustrating how a simple downpour can sometimes throw our whole routine out of whack, leaving us in the dark—both literally and figuratively. I'm not one to complain. It's all part of living in a place where the weather likes to keep us on our toes. So, I'll just take it in stride, maybe cozy up with a another cup of coffee, maybe watch some series for now while the rain plays its own soundtrack outside. Here's to hoping for brighter skies ahead!

On the other hand, let's talk about the recent 4th of July celebrations in America. I want to send out a belated but heartfelt shoutout to all my American friends here on Hive and wish you all a happy Independence Day. Even though I'm here in the Philippines and my husband is off enjoying the festivities in Vegas, we still managed to share the moment through a virtual celebration.

Earlier today, my husband surprised me with a video call to catch the fireworks display. It was such a sweet gesture, especially since he took his adorable French bulldog, Rocky, along for the ride. They found the perfect spot near my father-in-law's place, a park that doubled as a sunken soccer field where they had a front-row seat to the dazzling fireworks show. I could see in the video some folks grooving in the dark, sporting glittery wristbands—talk about a festive vibe. Despite being miles apart, watching the fireworks together virtually brought a smile to my face. And after the grand finale, my husband and Rocky strolled back home, and I could tell Rocky had a blast too. The photos I'm sharing were actually captured by my husband earlier at the park, giving me a glimpse of the pre-fireworks excitement.

So, that wraps up my July 4th experience, filled with virtual celebrations and shared moments of joy. To all my American friends, I hope your Independence Day was as sparkly and fun-filled as mine, even if it was through a screen. Here's to more virtual celebrations and unforgettable memories!

Until our next story, my friends. I wish you all a fantastic day wherever you are in the world!
