Krakow in Gothic

in Black And White2 months ago (edited)

Hello, guys!

As you have already seen, black and white photography only emphasizes the lines of ancient architecture. So today we will continue to admire Krakow. I took these photos less than a month ago, in September, during my long-awaited vacation (dedicated to HiveFest actually).

Wawel Castle

DSC00749.jpg

A rare photo of a passage from the main square to the castle's inner courtyard built in the form of an Italian palazzo with three tiers of open galleries. I don't remember exactly when we were there, but there weren't many people in general. Which happens rarely. I was lucky to take this photo without people. I'm not against people in the frame, but without them, the arches and what is behind them are better here.

And this is the arch from the opposite end of the courtyard. You can see the galleries through it.

This is one of the towers.

The palace was rebuilt, destroyed and restored many times. So he changed his initial Gothic style and acquired features of Neo-Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque.

Jagiellonian University

The most recognizable courtyard. If you didn't specify where this photo was taken, you'd probably think it was Italy. There are many tourists and no students. These people sitting around are waiting for a special event that happens here every 2 hours 5 times a day starting at 9:00. It plays the student anthem Gaudeamus Igitur, and a procession of figurines emerges from the dial.

Holy Trinity Church in Kraków and the Crypt

The Dominican Church is one of the largest Gothic basilicas in Krakow. So far, this is my favorite church in Krakow.

The church organ was built in 1890.
