Light and darkness in #monomad challenge/Світло і темрява (En/Ua)

Hello to all lovers of black and white photos. I want to tell you that my city is suffering from a power outage. On some days, electricity appears for two or three hours a day. Adults and children spend more time outdoors. People get used to living in new conditions. Generators work along the streets, which block the sounds of the city with their noise. And my son and I went to the city center. I was wondering if the fountain in front of the opera house was working. Still, I was leaning towards the fact that due to the fact that now there should be the greatest saving of electricity, the fountain will not work either. My guesses turned out to be wrong again and everything was the other way around. The central part of the city was filled with a large number of people. The fountain released its wet tongues upwards, and the children happily caught them. Maxim joined the game with the children and miraculously did not get wet. The fountain was also brightly lit, and when it got dark, the colored illumination of each water jet was noticeable. This is a very beautiful action and it is interesting to watch. It was as if the children were playing such a game that each of them covered the hole and waited for the water to leave.

Привіт усім любителям чорно-білих фотографій. Хочу розповісти, що моє місто потерпає від знеструмлення. В деякі дні електрика з'являється на дві-три години на добу. Дорослі і діти більше часу проводять на вулиці. Люди звикають жити в нових умовах. Вздовж вулиць працюють генератори, які своїм шумом перекривають звуки міста. І я з сином пішли в центр міста. Мені було цікаво чи працює фонтан перед оперним театром. Я все таки схилялася на те, що у зв'язку з тим, що зараз має бути найбільша економія електроенергії, то і фонтан не працюватиме. Мої здогадки знову стали помилковими і все було навпаки. Центральна частина міста була заповнена великою кількістю людей. Фонтан випускав свої мокрі язики вгору, а діти радісно їх ловили. Максим долучився до гри з дітьми і чудом не намок. Фонтан також яскраво освітлювався, а коли стемніло, то було помітно кольорове освітлення кожного водяного струменя. Це дуже красиве дійство і за ним цікаво спостерігати. Діти наче грали в таку гру, що кожен з них затуляв отвір і чекав коли піде звідти вода.

There is an opinion that light and darkness create a certain competition between themselves, that they represent the parallels of good and evil. I see a completely different meaning here. Light and darkness interact with each other, creating something new and unique.
When I am in total darkness, my eyes get used to it. And when the light suddenly appears, it hits me hard and I can't look for a while. This proves to me that light is not a completely perfect phenomenon. Similarly, darkness is not a completely negative phenomenon. Darkness gives me time to rest and a sense of orientation in space. Even in total darkness I can see the outlines of things. Thanks to their interaction, I can see the volume of things and details.

Існує думка, що світло й темрява між собою створюють певну конкуренцію, що вони уособлюють паралелі добра і зла. Я бачу тут зовсім інше значення. Світло й темрява взаємодіють один з одним, створюючи щось нове і унікальне.
Коли я знаходжуся в повній темряві, то мої очі звикають до цього. А коли раптом з'являється світло, то воно сильно разить мене і я певний час не можу дивитися. Це мені доводить, що світло не є повністю ідеальним явищем. Так само темрява не є повністю негативним явищем. Темрява дає мені час на відпочинок і почуття орієнтації в просторі. Навіть в повній темряві я можу побачити обриси речей. Завдяки їхній взаємодії я можу бачити об"ємність речей і деталей.

Similarly, in black and white photographs, light and dark colors cooperate, forming a gray scale, adding shadows and reflections. It is impossible to convey the clarity and beauty of the city's architecture with only dark or only light colors. There is something light and something dark in each of us. This cocktail of qualities makes us human.

Так само в чорно-білих фотографіях світлі і темні кольори співпрацюють, утворюючи сіру гамму, додаючи тіні і відблиски. Неможливо передати лише темними , або лише світлими кольорами чіткість і красу архітектури міста. У кожному з нас є щось світле і щось темне. Цей коктейль якостей і робить нас людьми.
