I went out for a moment to the garden at the back of the mansion, I needed some fresh air after spending so many minutes in the rarefied bustle of that place. I looked through the bushes at the end of one of the paths and there I saw her.
She was leaning against the flagstone wall, playing with her dress while looking at her cell phone. She looked at me and I felt like I was interrupting a moment of freedom and privacy like the one I myself was looking for. She approached a flowering bush and spent a few seconds looking at the petals, not knowing what to do. As I said good afternoon as a greeting, she looked at me and smiled. I thought I was about to break the ice to establish a refreshing conversation, but as soon as she smiled, she walked away over the creek bridge. I remained silent watching her leave, but nevertheless the soft taste of that afternoon remained forever when she turned towards me a few meters away and made a small bow, still with that beautiful smile on her lips.

Salí un momento al jardín del fondo de la mansión, necesitaba un poco de aire fresco luego de estar tantos minutos en el bullicio enrarecido de aquél lugar. Miré entre los arbustos al final de uno de los senderos y ahí la vi.
Ella estaba recostada al muro de lajas jugueteando con el vestido mientras ojeaba el celular. Me miró y sentí como que interrumpía un momento de libertad y privacidad como el que yo mismo andaba buscando. Ella se acercó a un arbusto florecido y estuvo unos segundos mirando los pétalos, sin saber qué hacer. Al darle las buenas tardes a modo de saludo, ella me miró y sonrió. Creía yo que estaba a punto de romper el hielo para establecer una conversación refrescante, pero en cuanto ella sonrió, se alejó por el puente del arroyo. Yo me quedé en silencio viéndola irse, pero sin embargo el sabor suave de esa tarde quedó para siempre cuando ella a los pocos metros se volvió hacia mi e hizo una pequeña reverencia, aún con esa bella sonrisa en sus labios.
