Every day, I feed my chickens, and it’s always a fun moment. Afterward, I enjoy a cup of coffee while watching them jump and play. I have seven chickens, and they’ll start laying eggs in the next month or two. My time in the chicken barn is a source of entertainment for me. While some people are bothered by the smell of chicken droppings, it doesn’t bother me at all. I’m also planning to add more DOCs
s, but I don’t have enough space in my current coop. I hope to secure some funding in the coming weeks so I can turn this plan into a reality.
Feeding my chickens with rice bran, factory-made feed, and some household waste has significantly reduced my costs. Currently, I only use 1/2 kg of factory feed per week, whereas before I started fermenting their food, I was using 1.5 kg of factory feed weekly. This has helped me save over 50% on feed expenses. According to some chicken enthusiasts on YouTube, fermented food is also more nutritious for the chickens than non-fermented feed. One piece of equipment I’m hoping to get is an egg incubator. With this, I could hatch my own DOCs, which would be a great addition to my farm. It would give me more control over breeding and further reduce costs in the long run.
Feeding chickens is a source of entertainment for me. Breeding chickens offers many opportunities, but it requires both time and money. I hope to turn my goals into reality through chicken breeding, carefully managing the costs and patiently working towards my dreams.
