What makes a person happy other than serenity in going through the day, and that does not require a luxury or something expensive. Because breathing fresh air and seeing green leaves has given me happiness when I am stressed with all kinds of business before returning to Indonesia.
Utilizing a make shift yard to plant flowers for fresh air, in the midst of the tired air of Taipei City which has tall skyscrapers with chimneys in the middle of the pubic area. The flowers are planted in pots on the ground floor of the apartment, where I have worked
for almost ten years.
However, in a matter of days I will leave the flowers as a memento of what I planted and took care of with all my heart. Even as entertainment because they are tired of being away from family in their hometown who have not seen each other for years. Every morning when I watered them, there was a sense of calm as if interacting with the flowers in the pot.
Not only flowers, there is a chili that I planted in our small yard. I bought the chili from a flower shop near where I work. Sometimes I take the chili, when I need it to cook or just to make chili sauce so that when I eat it feels better.
Understandably, the characteristics of Indonesian people will not feel good if they eat without spicy taste. This chili stick makes eating more delicious, when payday money has been sent home for many needs.
In the next month I will return to Indonesia, I will explore more plants in my own garden in my house. The gardens that I have here are part of the memories of my struggle in Taiwan. At a later date I will tell you about the collection of flowers in my hometown.
As a flower lover, seeing the green leaves, especially with the dew drops in the morning gives its own satisfaction that makes the heart calm and happy. Flowers as a natural calming therapy from conscience as a human being.

Oh goodness, such a big change.
Do you have a garden back home? So sad leaving plants that you have taken care of and can't take them with you.
I hope that you can show us what you create at home?
I understand about chili... I live in Australia, however we LOVE chili and i grow a chili plant where ever i go. Everytime we moved house in a rental (so we didn't own the house) i planted a chili, somewhere in a pot so i could have fresh chili.
Please keep us posted on your journey
Sarah
