Talking About the Game, in Human

So, the setting is an unknown universe to us humans. In various ways, and places, the universe begins to gain sentience in our earliest lore (The Origins of Tel, Lepan, etc.).

The universe consists of 9 galaxies.

Only one that we've learned of as humans thus far...

Mai. A galaxy much like our Milky Way. Sparsely speckled with inhabitable planets that have an oxygen rich atmosphere. She's the galaxy that gave birth to The First Story Ever Told.

On the first planet known...

Tel.

In each galaxy the atmosphere is a bit different. Creating unique and varying landscapes, creatures, you name it.

This variance will also create a large difference in what the various resources are or will be....

As well as how the creatures of that galaxy survive.

In Mai for example, the inhabitable planets are oxygen rich. Meaning the resources used in that galaxy will be much like that of here on earth.

We are starting the story on Tel because it's The First Story Ever Told.

The entity telling these stories has yet to identify itself (irl, i write it), yet seems to speak of the galaxies and the universe, as if they are old friends.

Never truly revealing gender, entity type, or it's origin...

Our narrator to these ancient stories is reading them from the oldest written thing...

I won't give spoilers, you can learn about that when the one reading to us finally reads about it to us.

What type of game is it?

Literally the most asked question.

You are in control of an area, like a city builder game. You can put down buildings on your land, explore, gather resources, learn and even age up (primitive to modern and beyond)

The idea will be to age up to a technological singularity point in your race. Then surpass that singularity point, moving on in exploration and discovery to learn the real keys to the universe.

Clues will be revealed in our lore predominantly. If you are not reading it you will get behind.

You can control as much area as you can afford to buy/grind for. Including the ability to own a planet in the distant future.

You will be able to learn basic knowledges like basic resource gathering/production by easy to achieve and basic means in game. It takes "something else" to learn past that. This part proves to be fun 😉 and we're aiming for this part to be quite unique.

The key to aging up will not just be building, it will also be learning. Certain tech will mark the move into a new age. Much like we perceive the "iron age", "bronze age", etc.

Unlike most city builder/galaxy builder, resource mining games...

First of all the lore is not official until its posted here on Hive. Those posts are what mark the lore finally being officialized.

You will see lore in our discord. Assume that lore to be the rough draft, or the sneak peak. It will change some from that writing to what is officially posted here. Once you see it posted here it was likely read by the one reading from the oldest written thing. It is, at the time of posting, The Singularity Official Lore.

The lore we have prepared will be written up until current day in our universe. Meaning the lore to write next will be from whats happening next.

We will be adding to the "current day" lore as it unfolds in game. Meaning that some of our players will eventually be written into our lore for in game historical things that have happened. We feel this will be a really cool and unique addition to our game and community.

There will also of course be "back-lore", or back stories, here as well. Perhaps even back stories for players that have done significant things or groups of players involved in a battle that becomes well known. If there is an epic battle, an overwhelming treaty, a person just doing something awesome in game or in the community, it might become The Singularity Official Lore.

Thus marking these events in "history" here on hive. I believe the engagement from this adds to the immersive aspect we strive for while providing some really nostalgic things down the line for our player base as it grows. You might be able to show lore a couple years ago and show your hive account off as the one in that thing that time that was so epic. Honestly folks, that's sick af.

We can also use this "current lore" as we grow to build out an amazing story as the game unfolds that we can add to "the oldest written thing" as if it has been there throughout time. Thus memorializing powerful, eventful, meaningful or otherwise memorable moments in game history.

The oldest written thing was not written with pen.

It was not typed with fingers.

It was never carved in stone.

It was written in the code of the universe and can only be read by those worthy. So far, the one that reads from the oldest written thing is the only one we (as humans) are aware of that can read from it. You've only learned of its existence today, and only because I told you. I've known about it for a year and still have yet to be worthy to read from it.

To try to read from the oldest written thing as human would dissipate your infinitesimal particles equally throughout the universe into every living and non living thing.

So don't get ahead of yourself...

For now, just listen to the one that reads from the oldest written thing.

It/they?... have learned how humans think and will use our media to show us history untold in our world. So that we might know, and prepare, for whats coming.

If you can hear them, learn from Sphen and Mai as they cry out in our pages.

Immerse yourself in our entire experience.

Then, and only then, might you be worthy to read from the oldest written thing and live to tell your story.
