And actually it was that last thing that had people shouting all kinds of ridiculous things just to cash in on that Miyabi hype. People had said she'd be the first dual-wielding attribute character with Ice and Fire. Others said she'd be to Zenless what Archon characters are to Genshin. People claimed she was an Attack character since back then there were no Anomaly characters. She'd have attacks separate between her sword and the ghost thing that floats around her was a another one.
But logic dictated that not a single one of those fever dreams became a reality. The thing about dual-attribute for example is that this game levels up characters according to their attribute. How would the distribution of leveling materials go with 2 yet still the same 5 attack skills? How would the damage be dealt between the two attributes and would lag hinder the switch? We do have Anomaly characters that switch between Physical and an elemental attribute and it gets annoying to reliably apply Anomaly because one type usually dominates. For example Grace has mostly Physical attacks but is mainly an Electric Anomaly character making it more difficult to apply her Shock Anomaly to enemies since she's constantly using Physical attacks instead. She could possibly apply Assault Anomaly which is the Physical version but her attacks are broken up by Electric attacks. This was partly resolved by Yanagi last patch where you can actively switch between "stances" which changes her attacks but that comes with a cooldown between stances that you need to look out for.
However Miyabi is a "dual-attribute" in her own way. As an Ice character she's supposed to apply Freeze Anomaly to enemies. But miHoYo gave her the unique Frostburn Anomaly which is separate from Ice. In that way just by attacking normally she ends up building for both. Frostburn weakens enemies to other Anomalies so then she even more rapidly applies Freeze which has the added ability Shatter once you hit them while frozen. On top of that since they count as separate Anomalies you get the Disorder Anomaly. However that's not limited to just her. If you have for example a team that's all Anomaly then Frostburn first weakens enemies to more Anomalies. Miyabi then applies Freeze and then you can switch to say Jane Doe who is a Physical Anomaly character and can already quickly apply Assault. Now with Frostburn's effect she'd apply it faster so you get a second Disorder. And then you can switch to say Burnice who can continuously use her flamethrower's fire jets to also very quickly apply Burn Anomaly. If you can get all that in within 10s you'll have applied Frostburn, Freeze, Assault, Shatter, Burn and 3 instances of Disorder. It might be very difficult for any enemy to survive that lol
Anyway the bottom line is that wild speculations and rumors shouldn't be listened to. They are seldom right and the thing that we do end up getting from the devs themselves is going to be wilder than these guys could ever come up with.
Good luck to everybody that plays this game and who wants Miyabi. Not only can she kick ass. She's also really pretty haha
PS: O right and we got Harumasa for free. I'm sorry but any way you slice it he was just not going to get the same attention as Miyabi. miHoYo made the right choice to give him away for free but personally I might have either made him an A-Rank on Miyabi's banner or just released him some other time. Version 1.4 is definitely Miyabi's patch.
