One thing I've been slowly working on is getting enough Slayer points to make my first purchase out of the shop. First, however, I'd need to gain a couple more points by doing more slayer tasks. As I was still 56 points short of the 150, I needed to buy this out of the shop.
Anytime I get something like lesser demons I know it’s going to take a little while to work through the 69 kills I needed from this task. I swear any task I get from the slayer master Vannaka is going to take me a while.
I at least know I'm going to get a decent amount of experience for the time spent getting out to whatever location I needed to find whatever creature I was to slay.
The cool thing about Slayer is I did not have to only hunt lesser demons. It turns out there is another alternative to hunting. It is however a boss with 150 health in the Gods War dungeon that I can’t even do yet. So, in this situation that was a no-go.
Often it is the alternative kills you can go after that end up being where the real money is in Slayer. My slayer levels are not quite there yet. But it was nice to see if I ever got bored of something like these demons there was another option to slowly rack up some kills on.
It seems I have lucked out a few times in getting Otherworldly beings. These are not that far away from a fairy ring and a bank. On top of that, I usually don’t need more than an inventory worth of food to finish off the task. I also ended up getting to level 47 Slayer while killing these.
I was then kind of shocked I got a rather easy task for my next one. Not only were hill giants in the same cave system as the slayer master, I got tasks from. I also ended up looting a giant key. I’d be saving the key for later when I went to go do the Hill Giant boss another day.
It seems like I was also on quite the roll. I kept getting tasks that had creatures rather close to fairy rings. I don’t know how many times in the past I'd need to make quite long runs back and forth for supplies to finish off a slayer task.
This time I got werewolves. Now to get werewolves you need to attack the humans in Canifits. While I do have the weapon that can be used to keep the humans from turning into the werewolves. I did not test to see if they would still count for the kills or not. I was mostly after the higher experience.
If this was a harder creature to kill, I'd have tested it out. However, with something just being in Canifits, I could not believe my luck yet again getting an easy-to-get location to get a few kills in.
After some repeat creatures from further tasks, I ended up getting a creature I almost considered spending 30 points and one of my task block slots on. These are these things called Mogre.
The nice thing about them is their spot is right next to a fairy ring. On the downside, you have to toss explosives into the water at the right spot to get one of them to come up to shore and attack you.
I just found this to get rather repetitive since I needed 88 kills of these things. I think I spent around 5k or 10k gold on buying the explosives from the slayer master to even do this task in the first place. I even had to do some world hopping since the first dozen or so worlds I was in had a depleted number of explosives and the price was way up there till those stores got more in stock.
The only good thing about this task was it was my 20th task. For every ten slayer tasks if I don’t fail or reset any of them, I get a nice little bonus number of points. So instead of just getting 4 Slayer points I got 20.
This did somewhat make me wish I had found a higher-level slayer master and taken on a more challenging task. I was however not that high level of a slayer yet and I did not want to risk getting a task I'd be struggling to finish for half a day like I did in the past on fire giants.
It then seemed like I'd be repeating quite a few creatures I'd already killed for that day. I’d get further tasks for hill giants and otherworldly beings. Which I was more than happy to be getting.
I then got a task to kill some infernal mages. Slayer has a couple of areas that are just set up for only having Slayer creatures in them. This would I believe be the first time I'd get to explore around the Slayer Tower. There is even a ring I could one day get that would teleport me to this location.
These things ended up being on the second floor. I ended up picking any runes they dropped. I buried any bones as well. While they don’t drop a lot worth of stuff to make money from. It was all starting to add up here or there. I also love it when it’s runes as they stack.
This task also put me just one away from hitting 150 slayer points. I was hoping for an easy one. So I could quickly finish this off and go get some other stuff done. The game however had other plans for me.
Blue dragons were going to be a bit of an issue. I lack the agility levels to use the shortcut to get to them quickly in the Taverley dungeon. I also forgot my first time returning to the dungeon they were in I needed a dust key to open the door. So, I ended up having to make a second trip before I even got to kill any of them.
While I was using the right kind of shield and antifire potions to not take any damage from the dragon’s breath. They still deal quite a decent amount of melee damage to me. Enough that I'd need to make multiple trips to refill on food and walk back to them.
There was at least something that worked out in my favor. Dragon bones at the time were going for over 4k gold every single kill dropped one. On top of that if I had any extra room in my inventory, I was either looting nature runes or blue dragonhide that was going for almost 1.7k gold as well.
For all my troubles with these dragons, I ended up making a decent little amount of money off killing them. I also got the last four slayer points I needed for Bigger and Badder.
While there were a few other rewards that looked tempting to get as well. Having a chance at getting a s superior spawn of what I was fighting sounds interesting. Not all creatures have a superior version either. So, there are many things I could end up fighting where I'll get nothing extra.
It will be interesting to see how often this ends up occurring. What kinds of drops and more importantly slayer experience do I get when it happens? Along with if I end up getting anything that spawns that I can’t kill.
So kept grinding a few more Slayer missions from Vannaka without much luck in seeing a harder creature spawn. At least it seems I ended up getting a bit more variety over what I was getting beforehand. As I had acquired some further slayer levels.
Such as hunting harpies bug swarms. These things required a special kind of lantern I got to buy off the slayer master for gold. I was kind of shocked after all the Slayer items I've acquired so far there were still things left for me to buy.
After a few more tasks I ended up getting werewolves for my 30th task. I was glad it was not Blue Dragons as I wanted to quickly get the bonus 20 points, I'd get from finishing this one off.
I’d go on to kill some trolls, loar shades, and some otherworldly beings before calling it a day. At this point, I felt things were getting a little too easy with this slayer master. I also wanted more Slayer points per kill.
I was also a little disappointed after reaching my level 150-point goal I had not noticed a single harder creature spawn. I thought perhaps all the tasks I was getting none of those creatures had a hard variant that could spawn in their place.
I decided to come back the next day and keep grinding more tasks. This time however I felt it was time to switch to a higher-level slayer master. Instead of getting a merge of 4 Slayer points per task, I was now getting ten. Quite a nice upgrade.
The benefit of switching over to Chaeldar is they were in quite an easy area to get to that was not that far from a bank either. I also would no longer need to go down the Edgevile dungeon to get to the slayer master like I needed to do with Vannaka. Instead, now I just had to take the fairy ring over to the Lost City and do quite a short walk.
As it would turn out I'd still be getting some of the similar monsters as I was with the other slayer master. I also once I got my slayer level up a bit more got some better rewarding things to slay as well. Which I was quite excited about.
I would also start to face some creatures I was not quite sure where the best spot was to fight them. Such as when I needed to kill 120 trolls. There are a couple of different kinds of trolls that would count. I ended up going up to the troll stronghold area and fighting some indoors.
I even lucked out a couple of times and had some decent drops. Nothing insane but I did get a ranarr seed drop for 23k gold, tooth half key for 9k, and some adamant drops as well. While these trolls were not as amazing as blue dragon kills. They were also easier to get to and kill.
I ended up getting almost 10k slayer experience from doing this one single task. At this point, I've been feeling Slayer was kind of taking forever to level up. So that much from a single task was nice to get.
Final Thoughts
I was however not seeing any benefits yet from investing into Bigger and Badder. I was also getting a bit tired of doing slayer tasks. So, I decided it was best to go work on some other activities and after a couple of day breaks do more slayer grinding.

I'm always surprised at how active Runescape is, I think it's time to add it back to my list of games I should get back to playing.
It looks like you're 'slaying' it! Even if the grind can be a little !SLOTH sometimes!
Hehe, you are a funny one :)
I was shocked to see it still around after all these years. yet some modern games can't even last a couple of years.
Thats a whole chunk of gold, I think fighting the blue dragon is simpler than the wholf, it actually depends on how many times you where defeated and how long it takes to pass that level
