Emberward is a pretty unique rogue-lite tower defense game with many extra mechanics. I am going to point those in a shot description list below as this is my first gameplay and I still have to understand each one, maybe even to discover some.

The game trailer can also be watched on the link down below:

Mechanics:

  • each round you draw cards (you can even buy with the reward gold), each card represents a block in a shape that you can place on the map to change or even block the path of the monsters
  • you start with the game by picking a pack of 3 towers that you like or feel that are going to work for your game run, and after each battle you can pick another new tower out of the 3 ones presented
  • besides the many type of towers the game brings to you, you have different size ones, you can have towers that take 1 square (1x1) 4 squares (2x2) and 3 squares (3x3), the bigger the tower the better stats it has
  • many of the towers can upgraded on two different paths, you can end with two towers looking the same but one with increased range and the other with extra damage as an example
  • at the end of each map you get points that can be used in a skill-tree to upgrade different stats/rewards
  • there are spots spawning randomly on the map where you can place a block on it and the tower that gets placed on it will benefit by it's boost (damage/range/attack speed etc.)
  • in a run you head from camp to camp (each camp means a new map in the current run) beating levels and earning rewards at the end of the round, these rewards can also bring you new type of blocks/boosts

I am 100% sure that while playing it a couple more times and advancing further into a level I will discover new things/mechanics.

Now let's get to the gameplay part, my run was about 27 minutes long, it started easy but got hard pretty fast, you can see the full gameplay on my Youtube channel down below.

The game starts with the difficulty selection part, in this case I went for the Normal difficulty.

The first Zone, Misty Forests, you can also see the stats are not 0 on the right side because I took the screenshot after recoding the gameplay, these stats are from my first run.

After this the map of your run is presented to you, starting from the left side in the village you have to cover the map and pick the spots that you feel would be best to get to the end boss.

And in the first spot, the village, where the yellow points you get to pick a character, each character brings a bonus to the table, in my case there's only one unlocked, that's the one I went with.

And the final choosing part is in the Academy, the second spot on the map, here you are presented randomly with 3 sets of towers and blocks, you decide which one is best for your run.

Once done with all these pick-options your fun journey begins, I'll let you see how my game went and who knows maybe you'll like it and give it a try.

You can get the game from here, and also before you buy it there is also a Demo available to try.

I will go into further details in my next gameplay, I still need to discover and learn mechanics in this game. I hope you enjoyed my gameplay and also I'd like to thank you for getting to the end of my post, I am wishing you a great day!

🔥🔥🔥 for how long have you been playing

This was my first time playing it, so probably like half an hour. I will try to beat the first boss in my next post.

That's really cool, od you okay clash of clans ? Or clash royale ?

At one point yes, I've played clash of clans, but once the upgrading time went over 20-24hours I gave up.
