”There is something calming and emotionally restoring when you focus on gratitude for a known deed that helped you, instead of fear of the unknown.” - Mark Goulston
Welcome to Grunday Week One!🎉
Just kidding, this is the Graturday Week 13 Post. It’s not late because I was trying to avoid the number 13, my phone died and that made everything much more complicated. There were signs that it was maybe starting to give out but I literally took it out of my pocket to check my messages and the screen was an unusable mess. No idea why. I swore I had more time to replace it but I was wrong. So if you’re reading this and you’re one of my 2-3 regulars, sorry about the delay. And if you’re new here, this is what’s going on:
Every Saturday I invite anyone who happens to stumble upon this post to share something they feel grateful for. Aside from getting the chance to express your gratitude, you could also win one of the prizes.
What prizes?
🎁 1st Gratitude Comment gets 100 Ecency points
🎁 2nd Gratitude Comment gets 90 Ecency points
🎁 3rd Gratitude Comment gets 80 Ecency points
🎁 4th Gratitude Comment gets 70 Ecency points
🎁 5th Gratitude Comment gets 60 Ecency points
But why gratitude?
Because gratitude is great for you. Being grateful can yield all sorts of benefits including:
-More restful sleep
-Better focus
-More patience
-Improved self esteem
-More positive moods
-Stronger relationships
(And many more)
And that's just from a scientific perspective. If you look at it in terms of the energy you put into the world and what you'd like to have returned to you, gratitude can encourage more good things to come your way. You don't have to believe it just because I (or anybody else) said so. Try it yourself with Graturday 😉. Here's how:
The Rules
- Leave a comment on this post about something you feel grateful for.
- Comments can be any length once they clearly convey what you feel grateful for.
- You can't pick everything or everyone so narrow it down to something or someone specific.
- You can't give the same comment more than once in a month if you want your entry to be eligible for prizes (but if you want to mention something multiple times per month alongside new things you feel grateful for that's fine too).
- You don't have to upvote or repost to enter but if you do, just know that you have my gratitude for that.
- You have until next week's Graturday post goes up to enter for this week ⏳.
What am I grateful for this week?
The insurance company that was giving my husband and I the runaround for almost a year finally paid up. It's not a huge sum but it came in handy and it feels good not to have to think about it anymore.
Alright! Now it's your turn. Please join in and let me know in the comments what you feel grateful for.
And have a Great Graturday!
