Hello everyone 👋. Hope all is well. It's been a tough and busy week at work.
Today, we are going to test the conditions of the issued M16 of our policemen. We need to check the firearm's serviceability.
We need to travel from our municipality to the gun club in Danao City, Cebu, where we can test fire the firearms.
It took us 1 and a half hours of travel time before we arrived at the gun club. Other policemen from other stations were already at the venue to also test their firearms.
Upon our arrival, I took a rest for a while together with the professional range officer that we hired. He will guide and look after during the testing of firearms.
Policemen from other stations were already testing and firing their M16s.
My colleagues started to set up the target boards to check the alignment of the bullets.
Each firearm should be tested for its alignment and condition of the whole. We prepared a paper for each one for the listing of defects of each firearm.
Our range officer then started to check each firearm for visible defects. Some show broken bodies and handles.
My colleagues then started to fire each one of the M16 that we brought. After each test, we check for possible defects in each firearm. We take note of each defect for further evaluation if it is still serviceable or not.
I was assigned to write each paper on the defects detected during the firing of each firearm and keep it for consolidation.
After all the firearms were tested... it's our time and chance to fire the long firearms. I took this opportunity to handle it and got the chance to fire one.
Don't worry because the range officer was on my side to guide and teach me the proper handling and how to fire. We have to be careful when handling long firearms. This is not a play, and should be cautious when doing this thing.
Lastly, we need to check and inspect our long firearms annualy to check for any defects and that it can be noticed immediately for repairs or replacement of parts.
After a long day, we took our late lunch at a restaurant near the firing range. I wasnt able to take photos of the delicious food that we ordered 'cause we are all really hungry and just attacked the food that they served.
This looks like a really fun thing although I can understand the serious nature of the test-fire process.
