Battle Analysis and Tips:
- Prioritize Armor and Damage Mitigation:
Since magic damage now targets armor first, selecting monsters with high armor or abilities like Shield and Retaliate becomes crucial. This helps protect your monsters and allows them to withstand attacks.
Utilize Shatter and Rust Abilities:
Monsters with Shatter can instantly break any amount of armor, making them highly effective in this ruleset. Rust, on the other hand, reduces enemy armor by 2, weakening their defenses and allowing your attacks to deal more damage.
Consider Piercing and Magic Reflect:Piercing attacks bypass armor completely, making them valuable options for dealing damage against heavily armored enemies. Monsters with Magic Reflect can also turn the tables on magic attackers, reflecting some of the damage back to them.
Choose Supportive Summoners:Select summoners that enhance the strengths of your melee and ranged attackers. Consider summoners that increase attack, speed, or provide buffs like Demoralize to weaken enemy attacks.
Position Monsters Strategically:Place your tankier monsters in the front to absorb damage and protect your ranged attackers. Utilize monsters with Opportunity in the backline to punish enemies attacking your back row.
Adapt to Opponent's Strategy:Analyze your opponent's lineup and their magic reliance. If they heavily utilize magic, consider prioritizing monsters that counter them effectively. Use strategies like focusing on armor removal or using monsters with magic reflect to turn their attacks against them.
Utilize Potions Effectively:Potions like Speed, Shield, and Armor can provide temporary boosts to your monsters, giving you an edge in battle. Consider using Neutralizing Blast to negate the effects of Blast ability if it poses a significant threat.
Experiment and Practice:The Weak Magic ruleset requires adapting your strategies. Experiment with different monster combinations and tactics to find what works best for you. Practice regularly to familiarize yourself with the ruleset's nuances and refine your approach.
Don't completely neglect magic: While magic damage is less effective, it still has its uses. Consider using magic monsters with high damage output or specific abilities like silence or healing.
Be mindful of the mana cap: Choose monsters that maximize your mana usage and synergize well with your strategy.
