Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: 1-Click Set Rentals

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game and there are some interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week, it's about the new 1 click set rentals features.

You can find the new page for renting these sets here and it is under the market tab. This is a new way for users to rent out a complete deck and start playing with less hassle.

It looks like there are 136 cards in the deck and it includes the core Chaos Legion cards as well as the reward cards that aren't soulbound. The lowest price that the deck is going for is 185 DEC per day. All the normal cards are at level 3, rare cards and epic cards at level 2 and legendary cards at level 1. So it's a good way for a new user to get a decent deck to start playing.

To create a deck, you can do so here. It is under the items tab. From what I can see, you can only create the chaos legion starter pack right now. There is no option to create your own deck.

When you click Create, you are taken to a page where you can select your cards. If you don't want to think, you can click autofill. However, according to the post, you should change your settings if you want to list your cards immediately. Otherwise, you will have to wait till all the cards are off cooldown.

To do so, you just need to change the Last Played to more than 3 days ago.

My opinion

I think this is a good feature for new players. With all the changes to the gameplay and how the system works, I felt that the focus wasn't on the new players at all. I do think this feature will make the onboarding and retention process easier. The only downside right now is that the options are limited to just the Chaos Legion starter deck. I think there should be decks of varying levels and the ability to create your own deck that you want to rent out. Also, it looks like it is just one person listing all the decks, so I wonder just how easy it is for people to have the required cards at that level. It sounds like a huge hassle as it is now.

Conclusion

This new feature is a great thing to see. I hope to see more of these types of changes as it makes it easier to onboard or retain users in Splinterlands. It's still a new feature so there is plenty that I wouldn't mind seeing being added, but the core details of this feature have everything that I can think of.
