Greetings, Splinterlands warriors! Another game season has come to an end and I hope you've received some great rewards for your battles. Well, after pumping up my deck with new cards, today I decided to take part in a new round of the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge and do some battles with the cool Back To Basics rule.
Since the cards are stripped of their abilities, you only have to consider the ability of the summoner, and rely on card speed and attack and health parameters, so you have to think about your strategy and get creative.
I had a very tough combination of Back To Basics, Silenced Summoners and Going The Distance (only archers can fight) in one of my battles, and it was very interesting.
So, I chose the Life element and the lineup was like this:
CORNEALUS
An archer with a huge amount of health acted as a "wall" protecting allies and delaying time.
SILVERSHIELD SHERIFF
A strong archer with good speed and plenty of life. Given the combination of rules he should have succeeded CORNEALUS when he left the game.
RUNE CRAFTER
Recently got this archer in gold foil and his large shield could be a great helper, giving my remaining cards a small head start.
WAR PEGASUS
One of my favourites amongst the new cards. Good speed and 7 life points make it worth using in battles like this. Even going to the first position, it's a great draw for the remaining cards.
SUPPLY RUNNER
Speed is awesome, so this position is taken by this neutral archer with a relatively low recruitment cost.
AIR ELEMENTAL
My trump card! Hid him in the last position, and thanks to his high speed I was counting on his attacks the most.
My opponent chose the Death Elemental, and his combo had a couple of very dangerous DHAMPIR STALKERs and a cooldown-deprived GOBSON BOMBER, but I had a big advantage in life bonus points and speed, so everything depended on misses.
In the first round we eliminated each other's tanks, which was very predictable, and the exchange of blows continued!
And in the third round RUNE CRAFTER came out on top and his shield worked exactly as I had planned, giving the other cards an excellent head start!
I survived until the end of the battle without any losses, and it was very nice that the "prank was successful", and the shield of the new card was more than a useful thing.
Was happy to share this experience, looking forward to launching of Soulkeep and looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield!
