Battle Mage Secrets: Close Range
Close Range is a ruleset where all ranged monsters can attack when it is in the first position. It is also applied to those monsters that has multiple attacks, like Runemancer Florre, The Vigilator, etc.
Top Summoners for Close Range: Modern Format
 | Yodin Zaku: The ruleset is Close Range I think is the best summoner to pick. It has +1 ranged attack to all of your monsters plus it can give additional damage to its adjacent monsters. Since Yodin Zaku has the Blast ability. |
 | Quix The Devious: This summoner is a ranged counter, it reduced the ranged damage of your enemy by 1. |
 | Lir Deepswimmer: If you think your opponent will be taken advantage of the close range ruleset and choose all ranged monsters, this is the best summoner to counter those ranged attacks. This summoner gives 2 additional armor, and has the Blind ability which is all enemy ranged and melee attacks increased the chance of missing their target. And most useful ability is the Return Fire, when a ranged monster hit any of your team the reduced damage will return to the attacker. |

Battle Prediction
There is a limited number of monster we can use because of the Rise of the Commons and Even Stevens. So it is hard to choose which monsters to pick or use. But most of the ranged monsters are common and rare. And most of it is in the water and life splinter. So my opponent will choose either water or life.
My Team
 | Quiz the Devious: Water splinter is open but I don't have Lir Deepswimmer, so my second choice is Dragon Splinter summoner which is Quix the Devious that can reduce enemy ranged attacks by 1. |
 | Shieldbearer: I choose this monster as my tank because I want to counter those ranged attacks. This monster has the Return Fire ability so when ranged hit this monster they also slowly kills themselves by the return fire. |
 | Time Mage: This monster can reduce the enemy's armor and speed. |
 | Venari Crystalsmith: In terms of healing, I always choose Venari Crystalsmith to support my first position. |
 | Supply Runner: I want to attack first that's why I pick this monster. Quix the Devious and Time Mage can reduce opponent's speed and add Supply Runner that can increase my monster's speed. |
 | Pelacor Arbalest: This is the only monster that I choose that has a lot of damage. This monster has a total of 6 ranged attacks. |
 | Naga Assassin: I add additional speed to secure that I will attack first. |

- My opponent aiming for speed, opponent use Quix the Devious to slow my team and 3 monsters that can increase his monster's speed.
- Enemy Naga Assassin attack first and received the return fire damage.
- In round 2, Demonshark died and most of his ranged attacks are slowly killed by return fire.
- Deeplurker is killed by Pelacor Arbalest and Shieldbearer.
Round 3
- Shieldbearer got poisoned by the last attack of Deeplurker.
- Enemy Naga Assassin and Merdhampir die.
Round 4
- In this round, may opponent River Nymph has only 1 health remaining and I attack first so it kills by Naga Assassin.
- Enemy Supply Runner died before it get a chance to attack.
The key to winning this battle is having a tank that has the Return Fire ability. Most of my opponent's monster is taken a lot of damage because of return fire. It increased my chance to win against my opponent. Plus having a monster that can heal your tank or support your tank. GG Zeeshannqvi71.
