I've long been interested in games that combine strategy and cards, so when I heard about Soulkeep I had to research it and see if it was worth trying and the first thing I noticed was its connection to Splinterlands which in itself is a good thing as Splinterlands is one of the best Play2Earn games and has a fantastic card system.
I think the first thing that will attract anyone to the game is the graphics and gameplay. Everything is truly excellently designed from the tower designs to the cards and even the visual effects during gameplay. The game isn't just about cards and it's a blend of tower defense and strategy, which sets it apart from traditional card games.
Honestly what made me want to try the game was seeing a lot of posts about it and that really piqued my curiosity. As I researched further and I discovered that it's not just a regular game, but a spin-off of Splinterlands, which means its economic system could be robust and potentially long-lasting. What's also great about it is that it's still in its early stages, giving anyone who joins the game the opportunity to collect rare cards first, instead of having to come back later and find prices and cards skyrocketing.
In Soulkeep, cards are represented by Towers, Spells, and Heroes, and each element has a different role in battle. I believe these types add a nice strategic dimension to the game as you're not collecting card but also having to think carefully about how to use them in the battle.
Now that I've logged in the first battle is just around the corner and I'm very excited to see how the system works in real life. Will it really be as fun as the videos and reviews suggest? I'll share my experience as soon as I play the first battle, and I hope it's the beginning of a new journey in the world of Web3 gaming.
