A middle-player's guide for spending Glint

in Splinterlandsyesterday

Good afternoon everyone! Here’s the second part of my guides to Glint spending – this time when you’re a medium player, or at least that’s what I assume myself to be, making around 50,000 Glint per season + 50,000 end of season, so 100k total per season.

The basic strategy is actually similar to my first post, A Beginner’s Guide for spending Glint – just that I usually max out the first Tier of common or rare cards (400 BCX common = 60,000 Glint, 100 BCX rare = 75,000 Glint).
Glint

First, I spend 2k Glint on Merits to buy a Gladiator Pack – they’re too hard to get and serve me very well in brawls, winning me more SPS and Merit for more Glint and more Gladiators and so on.

Second, I take a look at my common cards and rare cards and do a quick calculation on how close I am to the next level on my most used ones. Urujak Elder (neutral), Blackmoor Wild Elf and Halaran Huntress (Nature), Gian Alpine Skink (Water) and the Nimblehook Explorer (Life). Rare: Megalodon (Fire), Commander Slade (Water), Janni Rebel and Skyspire Leopard (Life), Dark Arborist (Death) and the Dragon Egg Forager (Dragon).

If some of them are close to a level up and get some great new ability or buff, I focus on that. Goal is to get them to Gold-League level, meaning 8 for common and 6 for rare. But since I got to Silver-League-Level, I try to focus more on Epic-Cards. Legendary is still nothing worth my time, 3 BCX per season with questionable use-cases is just not my kind of cake. The epics on the other hand are useful, although not as much as the common and rare (the latter are my favorites).

Since we get chests for getting up into the next league, I don’t buy any chests anymore – I find the rewards not astonishing enough, and rather go for the cards directly. As soon as I have all my epic cards on Silver-League-Level (which is my brawl level), I might go for the chests again in order to get merits – there are still many gladiators I’m missing out on :-D

Titles are still way too far out of my league, and I don’t own enough land to make it worth the while. Since I play in Wild and around Diamon League, I also don’t make enough glint to justify buying energy. And since I go for the cards directly, I don’t need any legendary potions – and neither gold potions, I only use those for the Tier-Chests.

So far so good, I hope this guide might help someone :-) If you have a different strategy that is more useful for the amount if Glint that I make per season (120k), please let me know! Thank you :-)
