Hey everyone!

Welcome to another Battle Mage Secrets Challenge, this time featuring the Little League, where players can only use cards which Mana points are four or below.

Little League

There is no specific strategy to follow when it comes to this rule, since there is no dangerous field effect or restriction to type of attack or any kind of penalization for using a certain kind of approach. You’re just able to use Monsters and Summoners which have four or less Mana points, so business as usual here, but with these specific cards.

The only thing I could say is, have a deep knowledge about those types of cards, get the most useful ones, like for example the Xenith Monk, which is a Monster with a self-healing skill or the Moxian Rebel, who weapon train cards, and build your strategy as usual.

Lineup & Analysis

Battle done in the Wild Diamond League. Only the Fire Splinter was not available and we had plenty of Mana to spare, considering the Little League rule, so plenty of options. Besides Little League, there was a “Keep Your Distance” rule, so no Melee Monsters and a “Corrosive Fog” rule, which reduces Max Armor per one at the end of each round, so it is like Cripple but for Armors.

I opted for a Magical approach, not because I particularly prefer it, but because it tends to be much more effective in these circumstances. Many times, when I want to be “smart” and try to come up with some witty alignment, I lose against a simple Magic lineup, so…

  • To boost my Magic attacks, Obsidian.
  • As my tank the Lurking Puffer, because it has a respectable amount of Health.
  • Next, the Moxian Rebel, to Weapon Train my non-attacking Monsters with a Magic attack.
  • Then, the Clockwork Aide, which is a good option to Weapon Train, because of its Swiftness effect.
  • In fourth position, Djinn Biljka. At level two is great, because it gets an extra point of attack and the Void skill, which halves incoming Magic attacks, so it’s a great “Little League” card.
  • In fifth position, the Fungus Flinger. Not the best card, but at level five it gets Blind, which increases the whole team’s evasion stat and it´s also a Martyr.
  • At last, one of my favorite cards, but hard to effectively use sometimes, the Madcap Magus. I didn’t want to focus all my attacks in my opponent’s tank, so I picked a card who guaranteed an alternative attack, even if I cannot really decide which is the Monster to be attacked. Besides, its Life Leech effect, allows him to raise a decent amount of Health.

The battle was a success because of two key cards:

  • Djinn Biljka: Thanks to its Void effect, which halves incoming Magic attacks, I was able to hold the line, since he received no damage from the remaining enemy cards.
  • Madcap Magus: Thanks to its Scattershot effect, I took down the only card that could’ve been a problem for Djinn Biljka, the Soul Strangler, since it is a Ranged attacker.

I do have to say though, that I was very lucky, because you never know with the Scattershot effect. In this case, it worked in my favor, by taking down the specific Monster I needed gone.
