The Farmboy's Wee Adventure

in Writing Club3 years ago (edited)

On one fine sunny Friday, the Farmboy embarked on an adventure somewhere a little far away...

The sun was just up and there weren't many people around. It was so peaceful and quiet. "What a lovely day!" he was excited.

Wandering around the place, he couldn't help but admire the morning dew clinging faithfully to everything they can... on plant leaves and on the blades of the grass.

He then took a little walk towards the fading red gate thinking he'd go say 'Hello' to the veterans but it was still locked. "They must be still in their beds..." he thought to himself glancing at the time on his watch. It was just a quarter past 7 which explains why there wasn't anyone around.

He turned right thinking he would take a peek in the garden. And upon getting there, he was immediately mesmerized by the beauty all around him.

He got smitten by these Canna Indica or Indian Shot as they are called. He took a wee time marveling at their wonders. He would be even more infatuated had he seen them burst into red beautiful blooms.

"Oh! What must these thorny fruits be?" He mumbled in his mind, "perhaps these are of the Bush Allamanda?" he wasn't really sure, but there is something about them that can't be ignored.

Pacing a little more, he got another surprise. These were actually of the Indian Shot, wilted yet still looking interestingly beautiful.

And what about this? He didn't really know. It was carefully tucked in the plant's leaf and looking peaceful in there.

He spent some more time in that garden, filling his lungs with fresh, unpolluted air while his eyes feasted all over again with the beauty that surrounded him.

He looked up after a while and noticed this black-feathered friend perched on the branch of a tree. "And I even have a guardian angel!" he smiled and took some mementos of that friend.

He thanked the Heavens for all that he had enjoyed that morning. His soul felt rich and he was blissful.

He must leave but would be back to that little paradise for sure...

The END!

Thank you for taking this wee adventure with the Farmboy. Let's do that again next time, yeah?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks, sis!!! It's the first time I've ever been tipped in LOH in a comment. I didn't know we could do that. That's cool 😊🤗.

You are welcome sis! It just started yesterday🌞

I look at the post, but I don't have enough tokens to give tips, hehe ;)

Nature is a beauty. Thanks for the brief lesson in botany. I doubt I'll ever come across any of these plants and flowers where I'm from. They all look similar with their thorns.

Indeed, nature is. Thank you too for appreciating. Have a wonderful weekend
