I have a habit of trying to catch good sunrises and sunsets. Here's a compilation from this year.
I got this sunset in Arizona sometime in February.
This is a sunrise from the northwoods in Wisconsin. There are plenty of lakes up there and loads of opportunities for good sunrises and sunsets.
Where I live the sunrises are rarely colorful but every now and then with just the right conditions the whole sky lights up off my balcony.
Other days the sunrise is more subdued. At least the clouds caught a bit of color.
It seems ice crystals filter out the light the best.
Meanwhile in Arizona pretty much every sunset is epic. Sunrises less dramatic. Must be the dust in the air over there.
Gotta love the mountain silhouettes and bold colors.
Meanwhile in Illinois the sunsets are pretty tame.
Sunsets look about the same in Wisconsin.
That's all for now more sunsets soon. Thanks for looking :-)
if we had sunsets and sunrises like this in my area I'd always have my phone handy so I can capture these glorious moments.
These are beautifully amazing!
I'm always checking weather conditions to find them.
That's coolll
What a collection of colors! I think the ice crystals in the middle with the yellows is my favorite 👍
Its rare not to have a solid gray sky in Illinois during the winter. The ice crystal scenario is a bit rare compared to the constant dust in the air in AZ.
Here's tonights sunset in the north woods.
Not bad, how early do you wake up the sunrise might have more color.
Yeah its nothing special but I just shot it since I was thinking about your post. I get up early but don't usually get out walking until a little later.
Sunsets are amazing.
I have one somewhere with some bird silhouettes flying against the color. Probably doves i just need to find it in the archives.
Great captures.
And every one of them so different. What a joy to have seen them.
Happy Friday to you 👋🏻😎So beautiful @sketch.and.jam all of them.
I used to have a weather app that would try and predict good sunsets and sunrises. Unfortunately it was quite unreliable, better to just always go out and look for them.
It is hard to predict those things… if you are up, yep better to check it out. 😉😁
Have a great Friday 👋🏻☀️

Aren't you afraid of such bloody sunsets and sunrises? In the old days, people were afraid of them.
Usually such red sunsets bring a strong wind the next day.
Its the end of the world lol. People in Arizona just get used to them and stop even noticing them since they happen almost every day there. Here in Chicago people appreciate them a bit more. As it turns out its always windy in Chicago.
Oh, are you from Chicago?
From Arizona but been living for years in Chicago.
So you know the South Side?
There is a series about this area and about the Gallagher family - Shameless.
Damn. Is this really true? or is it grotesque and exaggerated?
Lol the south side is horrible its a nogo zone. Something like over 300 different gangs fighting eachother over drug territory over there. As for the show that if anything is making things look better than they really are over there, its all scripted.
Oh, yes, it is shown in the series - the bottom of society.
These are amazing. I couldn’t pick a favorite, 😊
Its quite a nice free form of entertainment. One of these days I have to setup a timelapse of a good sunrise/set.
awesome stuff!! Nature is amazing and insanely creative photography dear friend.
Thanks, I was just there at the right time to capture it.
