Trek, the word of the 6th day of Zingtober. So I initially set my mind on capturing something like "trekking". So today I present to you a Fan Art of the Forest Healer ready and willing to start a trek through a Forest area.
I regret to say that before coming up with this idea, I had been working on another one, it was the Forest Healer, but I was using different materials and a different technique, I didn't find myself in the illustration itself, I felt lost. So I started a new canvas and a new sketch with more of my style.
Lately I've been enjoying working more on the "dirty and imperfect" stuff, I think it's nice that way too. Of course, it's in line with what we want to achieve, but this way has seemed more relaxing to me.
The Healer of the forest must cross a forest area to reach a meeting of Healers, where they must complete their joint missions. The journey will not be easy, he has equipped himself with a magic staff of Cedar and a backpack containing potions and some essences of Holos that can be useful in some unexpected context. Meanwhile, he smiles happily to trek.
Let's quickly see Drawing process:
To create this illustration I used the following resources: Tablet, digitizer pen, Medibang Paint. This time I used: Smooth round pencil in different thicknesses depending on the line or effect I wanted, airbrush, blur, leaf brush and Fluffy. As for something extra, some opacity, layer and Gaussian edits.
I started with a rough sketch, then moved on to the shaping and outlining stage. At the same time I used an eraser for any details that needed editing, so I could get ahead on the third step. After this, I cleaned up and improved the outline, as well as the surroundings of my healer. I preferred to leave the shadows for almost last, so I would have a clearer idea of where they could go. Finally I used some special brushes that I had just downloaded for the illustration, as well as a Gaussian effect for the sense of depth.

Wow just look at that color palette, even if they are black and white like in the inktober (zingtober) theme they look great.
Thank you so much, lovely comment. I think you have been able to feel the essence of the journey that I wanted to convey with my illustration. That makes me immensely happy.
Have a nice evening Holo!
