Hace un tiempo atrás, mientras buscaba ideas para decorar mi arbolito de navidad con los colores que querían mis hijos (blanco y rojo) me encontré con muchísimas alternativas muy lindas, pero por supuesto tenía que tomar en cuenta las decoraciones que tenía en casa, y buscar una opción que se adecuara a ellas y finalmente encontré una que encajaba con todos los adornos que tenía para mi árbol de navidad, y entre tantas cosas que vi las "maxi" decoraciones eran las protagonistas y una de ellas se me metió entre ceja y ceja, y por supuesto yo tenía que hacerla. Se trata de unas piernitas de elfo, que le dan un toque super único y divertido al árbol de navidad.

A while ago, while looking for ideas to decorate my Christmas tree with the colors my children wanted (white and red), I found many beautiful options, but of course I had to take into account the decorations I already had at home and find an option that would match them. Finally, I found one that fit with all the ornaments I had for my Christmas tree. Among the many things I saw, the "maxi" decorations stood out, and one of them caught my eye. Of course, I had to make it. They are elf legs, which give the Christmas tree a super unique and fun touch.

Como les digo estas piernitas de elfo le dan un toque súper divertido, además de original al arbolito de navidad y me pareció que venía perfecto con la gran mayoría de los adornos de mi arbolito ya que por decirlo de alguna manera son muy 'infantiles", ya que en casa el arbol de navidad se comenzó a armar cuando nació mi hijo Matías, por lo tanto las decoraciones fueron muchos peluchitos de animales con trajes navideños, santas divertidos y muy coloridos, además de muñecos de nieve, todos muy al gusto de un niño, así que estas piernas de elfo me venían bastante bien.

Todas las que vi, las vi hechas con tela, pero la verdad es que me quedan bastante lejos de casa las tiendas donde podía conseguir las telas, así que decidir usar foamy, porque esas piernitas sí o sí debían estar en mi arbolito, así que les comparto su paso a paso que además es bastante sencillo.

As I said, these elf legs add a super fun and original touch to the Christmas tree, and I thought they went perfectly with most of the decorations on my tree, since they are very 'childish', so to speak. Since we started putting up a Christmas tree at home when my son Matías was born, the decorations were lots of stuffed animals in Christmas outfits, fun and colorful Santas, and snowmen, all very child-friendly, so these elf legs were just right for me.

All the ones I saw were made of fabric, but the truth is that the stores where I could get the fabric are quite far from my house, so I decided to use foam, because those little legs had to be on my tree, so I'm sharing the step-by-step process with you, which is also quite simple.

Estas piernitas muestran los calcetines tradicionales a rayas de los elfos, y por supuesto sus zapatos puntiagudos, así que el primer paso era crear las medias a rayas que en mi caso fueron rojas con blanco y para ellas usé una hoja carta de foamy y la corte por la mitad a lo largo.

These little legs show the traditional striped socks worn by elves, and of course their pointy shoes, so the first step was to create the striped socks, which in my case were red and white. To make them, I used a sheet of foam and cut it in half lengthwise.

El siguiente paso es unir las puntas del recorte de foamy y pegarlas creando un cilindro delgado.

The next step is to join the ends of the foam cutout and glue them together to form a thin cylinder.

A continuación lo siguiente fue rellenar con guata los dos cilindros, para que nuestras piernas tomen un poco de forma y darle volumen.

The next step was to fill the two cylinders with batting to give our legs some shape and volume.

Una vez están rellenas las dos piernitas procedemos con las rayas de los calcetines que las hice en foamy rojo, para lo cual corté tiras delgadas y las fui pegando a lo largo de nuestros cilindros, para de esa forma crear la apariencia de las medias a rayas de los elfos y finalmente cerré con el silicón caliente uno de los extremos de nuestras piernas.

Once the two legs are filled, we proceed with the stripes on the socks, which I made out of red foam. To do this, I cut thin strips and glued them along the length of our cylinders to create the appearance of the elves' striped socks. Finally, I sealed one end of our legs with hot silicone.

Listas las piernas el siguiente paso era realizar los zapatitos puntiagudos de los elfos y para esto hice primero el molde en una hoja blanca tomando como referencia las piernitas que ya estaban listas, y una vez tuve el molde del tamaño deseado los transferí al foamy sacando 4 piezas, dos para cada zapato.

Once the legs were ready, the next step was to make the pointed elf shoes. To do this, I first made a mold on a white sheet of paper, using the legs that were already ready as a reference. Once I had the mold in the desired size, I transferred it to the foam, cutting out four pieces, two for each shoe.

Seguidamente encontramos dos piezas de los zapatos para armar el primer par, y con el silicón caliente pegamos toda la parte externa, y una vez listo cerramos por secciones la parte interna mientras incorporamos el relleno hasta tener nuestro zapato terminado. Por supuesto dejamos abierta la parte donde irá la pierna de nuestro elfo.

Next, we find two pieces of the shoes to assemble the first pair, and with hot silicone we glue the entire outer part, and once ready we close the inner part in sections while adding the filling until we have our finished shoe. Of course, we leave open the part where our elf's leg will go.

Como decoración le hice a los zapatitos un pequeño borde blanco con guata, introduje el calcetín a rayas dentro del zapato, lo aseguré con silicón caliente y listo. Coloqué cada uno a los extremos del árbol hacia la punta del mismo, creando la ilusión de que nuestro querido Elfo esta de cabezas en el árbol de navidad haciendo desastres.

As decoration, I made a small white border with batting for the shoes, inserted the striped sock inside the shoe, secured it with hot glue, and that was it. I placed each one at the ends of the tree toward the top, creating the illusion that our beloved Elf is upside down in the Christmas tree causing mischief.

En este punto les confieso algo, mi árbol pasó por muchas etapas, y esta decoración no es la idea inicial, es más, hasta el día de hoy le estuve agregando cosas aunque tiene cerca de 15 días armado, pero esa historia es para otro día y otra comunidad. De momento espero que les haya gustado esta idea que por cierto es low coast y queda realmente hermosa, así que anímense a hacerla en casita.

At this point, I must confess something: my tree went through many stages, and this decoration is not the initial idea. In fact, I have been adding things to it even today, although it has been set up for about 15 days. But that story is for another day and another community.
