My Experience As I Started Crocheting

Hello, hive users! We've met again. Welcome! I hope you guys are doing well. I'm here to share my experience as a teen crocheter.

For those who are new here,

Hello there! Welcome to my blog! I'm 16 years old, and I've just started chocheting recently. After a while, it became my hobby. This hobby of mine is really financially helpful, so I'm grateful that I've discovered it.

You might be wondering, Why did I start crocheting?

I've been wanting to crochet since last year, and I have several TikTok tutorials bookmarked in case I change my mind and start crocheting. But my twin friend (I call her my twin friend because we share the same birthdate) gave me a crochet lily, which I truly loved. It occurred to be my very first time receiving a flower crochet, and it was extremely nice to say that it motivated me to start crocheting. I'd like to repay her kindness by beginning to crochet.

THE PROCESS OF ACQUIRING MY CROCHET PASSION

When I came home, I immediately began looking for crochet supplies, but I couldn't find a crochet hook. However, this wasn't enough to discourage me, so I improvised and utilized what I had at home as a hook. I've always believed in the saying, "If there's a will, there's a way." As a result of that, I discovered this and then utilized it as a crochet hook.

It worked really well, and I started to construct a tiny rose. It wasn't too difficult, though, because I got it on the third try. I'm overjoyed and will show it to my family. They were really supportive of me, especially my grandmother. My mother brought me a crochet hook the following day.

And I'm delighted, so I started producing additional little roses because Valentine's Day is approaching, and they'll be sellable during that time. I also made a tumbler bag for my older sister since her tumbler doesn't fit in her bag.

EXPERIENCE IN SCHOOL

When I initially started crocheting in school, some of my classmates teased me because they thought crochet was reserved for old people. I didn't mind them because I don't care what happens. Since this activity has helped my family, I am not going to stop because of what they say. The lesson I gained here is to avoid stumbling due of someone else's behavior. Remember that not everyone will agree on what's best for you. Some individuals are envious that you've been capable to do it. But don't give up! remain optimistic and keep going.

MAKING MY MINI BUSINESS

When I finished a bunch of my mini roses keychains, I considered selling them. But I'm worried at first since one of my classmates established a business and her grades decreased which I don't want to happen to me. So I discussed this with my friends, and they said it was a fantastic idea and that I should try it. They were quite encouraging, and I thought, "It won't hurt if I try just once, right?" Before I knew it, I was already glad I had tried something new. It felt exciting and terrifying at the same time. I'm unsure of what tomorrow holds for me, but I have no plans to give up now that my business is doing well. After sharing my crochet on social media, I gained positive feedback and sold 28 little rose keychains. Since then, I've experimented with several keychain designs. But for now, I'm focused on an aqua animal keychain, such as this:

SUGGESTIONS IF YOU WANT TO CROCHET

If you're beginning your journey, you should watch YouTube videos. TikTok lessons are difficult to understand, especially for beginners. Furthermore, there is no need to purchase pricey yarn; simple yarn will be enough for your practice. You can start with easy crochet projects, such as a headband. This is excellent for your practice because you will be able to control your strength. Don't forget to have fun while doing it! ^^
