Craft Time!
I really like this shop. I bought this clay because it is not a hassle to condition the clay, so in just a second, the clay is completely conditioned. But the downside of it is that it attracts a lot of dust and lint. You need to condition the clay first before starting sculpting to avoid cracking on clay when baking.
Weighing the clay is not mandatory, but if you want to sell your keychain portable weighing scale is an important investment. So, for me, I weigh four clays with equal weight.
I start with shaping the clay into a shape like a banana, and to add the texture, I use my bare finger to do that.
This is what it looks like. I do the same to the other clay.
And then I used alcohol and a Q-tip to clean the clay and to remove any fingerprints.
Next is I am going to poke in the clay using the toothpick. I start with one clay first.
And then I poke in the rest of it, and now I go to the next step.
This is where the magic goes, adding the color to the clay makes it more realistic to achieve those. I use soft pastel and a makeup brush. I add a little by little layer to the clay so that I can balance what to add more or less.
Next is I added the eyepin just poke in to the place where the best part is to add the keychain later.
I let the clay rest a little bit on a silicone mat and then make sure to prebake the oven first, and then bake the clay into what the instructions on the packaging of the clay and then after baking, let it rest until it cools down before proceeding to the next part.
Let's add the sauce or the glazing. What I do is I mix UV Resin and soft pastel, and mix them because usually the sauce of the street food has chilis on it, so I added baked red clay and chopped it into small pieces, and I added it into the mixture and then applied it using a toothpick.
And then I let it cure under a UV Lamp for about 5 minutes, or until it is no longer sticky.
And then I will need to add the keychain. I will need 2 pliers. What I do is I hoop in the jump ring into the keychain.
And then I use the two pliers to lock the jump ring, and then it's done!
Kikiam Clay Keychain!
