Hello Hive

Guess what project your seamstress has just sewn

A beautiful little Brides Dress for my neighbors daughter. This was what I had spent my night doing.
One of my neighbor is getting married this weekend and I was tasked with the job if sewing the little brides outfit.

At first I didn't want to take up the task of making the outfit because of my already over busy schedule with both farm work and the sewing tasks I already have at hand but I have to disappoint my friends and people who always trust me with their work. If I turn down my customers they may not want to give me clothes to make for them next time.

My neighbors wants her daughter to be the little brides for her wedding hence she picked up a beautiful white dress design online and asked if I can replicate it for her daughter.

It was a whole lot of work for me as I needed to first source for the perfect fabric I can use to replicate the design

I wasn't able to the exact fabric type seen on the style inspiration picture she sent but got a bridal satin fabric instead. I later regretted using the fabric as it didn't give me the fall and beautiful effect I had wanted.

Since the outfit is a jacket design I had to create a pattern for it first..I tried my best to give it the right collar design and all.

After that I stated to stich the outfit.

Cut out the 3-step lower flair for the blouse

And then it has a puff sleeve which make me to create a puff sleeve design pattern in papper first before transferring it to the fabric

On the sewing machine I created the puff pleates for the sleeves first before attaching it to the dress.

Next I sewed upper and lower bodice together then added some beautiful accessories to the waist line

And a little elastic band to the back of the dress so that it can give it some fitted design.

The final dress I made is a little different from the original design seen online. The reasons are not far fetched. We do not have access to the really quality fabrics

And then a gain I had to hem the dress with manual sewing machine instead of weaving the hemming with a hemming food. Most times having the right machines and accessories for work makes our handmade diy jobs more pretty and attractive.
