Crochet Owl Doily

Saludos querida comunidad #needleworkmonday, hoy comparto con ustedes el resultado de un proyecto que me mantuvo muy entusiasmada y ocupada por varios días, se trata de un tápate circular hecho a crochet con la figura de un búho, este es uno de mis animales favoritos, la idea surgió mientras navegaba en la web buscando inspiración, fue entonces cuando vi un patrón en Pinterest, como muchos aquí saben yo acostumbro hacer mis propios patrones pero esta vez algo en ese patrón capturó mi completa atención, así que decidí descargar el gráfico y hacerlo igual.

Greetings dear #needleworkmonday community, today I share with you the result of a project that kept me very excited and busy for several days, it is a circular cover made by crochet with the figure of an owl, this is one of my favorite animals, The idea came about while I was browsing the web looking for inspiration, that's when I saw a pattern on Pinterest, as many here know I usually make my own patterns but this time something in that pattern caught my full attention, so I decided to download the graphic and make it equal.

Si el patrón fuese más simple creo que no habría llamado mi atención, pero resulta que en la imagen que observé del tápate de referencia no se podía distinguir el punto inicial de donde comienza el trabajo de puntadas en circular, es decir, el centro del tápate no se veía el círculo inicial, esto me mantuvo observando la imagen por mucho tiempo trabajando de descifrar el patrón sin ver el gráfico, en mis tantos años de experiencia para mi es fácil ver una imagen y deducir el procedimiento pero esta vez me sorprendió no poder hacerlo, asi que cuando encontré el gráfico todo tuvo sentido, pero aún así decidí hacerlo para constatar que yo podía hacerlo, me tomé este proyecto como un reto personal de aprendizaje.

If the pattern were simpler, I think it would not have caught my attention, but it turns out that in the image I saw of the reference tápate, I could not distinguish the initial point where the circular stitch work begins, that is, the center of the tápate. The initial circle was not visible, this kept me looking at the image for a long time working to decipher the pattern without seeing the graph, in my many years of experience it is easy for me to see an image and deduce the procedure but this time I was surprised not to be able to do it, so when I found the graph everything made sense, but I still decided to do it to see that I could do it, I took this project as a personal learning challenge.

Al principio tenía mis dudas pero luego d estas cuantas hileras en circular comprendí el motivo por cual no podía ver el punto inicial a simple vista, me pareció maravilloso la forma en que hicieron el gráfico de modo que los puntos altos en relieve constituyen la imagen de Búho. Estaba fascinada y continué leyendo el gráfico y trabajando con hilo acrílico de 1mm y una ganchillo de 2.5mm.

At first I had my doubts but after these few circular rows I understood the reason why I couldn’t see the initial point with the naked eye, I thought it was wonderful the way they made the graph so that the high points in relief constitute the image of Owl. I was fascinated and continued reading the chart and working with 1mm acrylic yarn and a 2.5mm hook.

A pesar de que sé leer gráficos de crochet esta es la primera vez que decido hacer un proyecto siguiendo un gráfico de Internet, por eso tenía miedo que el gráfico tuviera algún error en la imagen que no me permitiera continuar en las hileras avanzadas, pero afortunadamente no fue así, el gráfico esta muy bien y cada puntada está debidamente dibujada, por lo que pide completar el proyecto. > Although I know how to read crochet charts, this is the first time that I decided to do a project following a chart from the Internet, so I was afraid that the chart would have some error in the image that would not allow me to continue in the advanced rows, but fortunately It was not like that, the graphic is very good and each stitch is properly drawn, so it asks to complete the project.

Una vez finalizada el tapete lo lave y lo puse a secar sobre una lamina de polietileno, coloqué alfileres para estirar el tapete, a este proceso se le llama bloqueo, pues al lavar y sacar la prenda estiradas las fibras toman su lugar y ya no se enrolla, también se puede planchar con una temperatura no muy alta, este es un procedimiento que recomiendo hacer con mucho cuidado prontos resultados valen la pena.

Once the rug was finished, I washed it and put it to dry on a polyethylene sheet. I placed pins to stretch the rug. This process is called blocking, because when you wash and remove the stretched garment, the fibers take their place and no longer move. Roll it up, you can also iron it with a not very high temperature, this is a procedure that I recommend doing very carefully, the results are worth it.
