Greetings to everyone who stops by to read! When I heard about a new edition of this contest, I was very excited and wanted to participate again. This time I was encouraged to make an outfit for my precious cat Guillermina, consisting of a skirt and a crown, I appreciate your attention and your time and I invite you to follow here and see how I elaborated it 😊.

¡Saludos a todos los que pasan por aquí a leer! Al enterarme de una nueva edición de este concurso, me emocioné mucho y quise volver a participar. En esta ocasión me animé a confeccionar un conjunto para mi preciosa gata Guillermina, que consta de una falda y una corona, agradezco su atención y su tiempo y los invito a seguir aquí y ver cómo elaboré este atuendo 😊.

First I imagined the skirt and looked in a suitcase where I have a lot of scraps and leftover materials to see which ones I could use for the project.

Primero me imaginé la falda y busqué en una maleta donde tengo muchos retazos y materiales sobrantes para ver cuáles me podían servir para el proyecto.

Materials to make the skirt / Materiales para elaborar la falda

• Mustard color fabric
• Green color fabric
• Black band with elastic (cut from a sport pant)
• Threads in the colors of the fabrics
• Tape measure
• Scissors

• Tela color mostaza
• Tela color verde
• Banda negra con goma (recortado de un mono deportivo)
• Hilos de los colores de las telas
• Cinta métrica
• Tijeras

Elaboration / Elaboración
First I took my cat's measurement, the contour of her “waist”, that is, in the middle of her belly 😺. I fitted the black band with elastic to this measurement and then proceeded to cut the mustard colored fabric. Since the piece was not the required length of 120 cm, I cut it into two parts of 60 cm each and 14 cm wide and joined them together. With the green color I did the same, but I left less width, 8 cm.

Primero le tomé la medida a mi gata, el contorno de su "cintura", o sea, en la mitad de su panza 😺. Acomodé la banda negra con goma a esta medida y luego procedí a cortar la tela color mostaza. Como el pedazo no tenía el largo requerido de 120 cm, lo corté en dos partes de 60 cm cada una y 14 cm de ancho y los uní. Con el color verde hice lo mismo, pero le dejé menos anchura, 8 cm.

I then formed small folds with the mustard fabric, pinned them in place and proceeded to sew on top.

Luego formé pequeños pliegues con la tela mostaza, los fijé con alfileres y procedí a coser en la parte superior.

I also folded the fabric at the bottom and stitched it.

También doblé la tela en la parte inferior y le pasé costura.

And that's how it looked:

I did the same with the green fabric, joined the two pieces together (60 cm long and 8 cm wide each), formed the folds and then sewed them together. The only thing different is that I didn't sew the bottom edge, because this fabric doesn't fray and looks better like that.

Hice lo mismo con la tela verde, uní los dos pedazos (60 cm de largo cada uno por 8 cm de ancho), formé los pliegues y luego les pasé costura. Lo único diferente es que no cosí el borde inferior, porque esta tela no se deshilacha y se ve mejor sin doblar.

The next step was to zig zag stitch the mustard fabric to the black band with elastic, I put these pieces right side to right side, ran the sewing machine and then flipped. And then I sewed the green fabric to the mustard fabric in the same way, 4 cm from the edge.

El siguiente paso fue coser en zigzag la tela mostaza a la banda negra con elástico, puse estas piezas lado derecho con derecho, le pasé la máquina y luego volteé. Y después cosí de la misma manera la tela verde a la mostaza, a 4 cm del borde.

See the result, here's how this cheerful skirt turned out for my cat, I immediately looked for her to try it on 😃.

What do you think? I think that this model that I invented is beautiful and it is nice for my cat, in fact, when I put it on her she left it on without bothering, apparently she liked it. I left it on for a while and she even fell asleep haha.

¿Qué opinan? Yo pienso que me quedó bello este modelo que inventé y le quedó fino a mi gata, es más, cuando se lo puse se dejó sin molestarse, al parecer le agradó. Se lo dejé un rato y hasta se durmió jaja.

Now I will show you the elaboration of the crown, which I crocheted with a nice yellow yarn I have. The first thing is to crochet the chain stitches according to the contour of the cat's head, surrounding her ears.

Ahora les mostraré la elaboración de la corona, la cual hice tejida a crochet con un bonito hilo amarillo que tengo. Lo primero es tejer las cadenetas de acuerdo al contorno de la cabeza de la gata, rodeando sus orejas.

Close the circle with a slip stitch and then knit a line of single crochet over the chain stitches.

Cerramos el círculo con un punto deslizado y luego tejemos una línea de puntos bajos sobre las cadenetas.

At the end we go up with two chain stitches and now we make one more row but with double crochet.

Al terminar subimos con dos cadenetas y ahora hacemos una línea más pero con puntos altos.

Finally, we make some decorative stitches that give shape to the wreath. To do this we go up with 2 chains and make 3 double crochet stitches in the same space, in that third stitch we go up 4 chains and then pass the crochet hook through the first chain with a slipped stitch, this way we form the peak. We finish by knitting 2 more double crochet stitches in the same space.

Para finalizar, hacemos unas puntillas decorativas que son las que le dan forma a la corona. Para eso subimos con 2 cadenetas y hacemos 3 puntos altos en un mismo espacio, en ese tercer punto subimos 4 cadenetas y luego pasamos el ganchillo por la primera con punto deslizado, así se forma el pico. Terminamos haciendo 2 puntos altos más en el mismo espacio.

We skip a space and make a slip stitch, and in the next space we repeat the process to make another peak, and so on until we go around the whole circle and finish the wreath. We hide the leftover yarns and that's it.

Saltamos un espacio y hacemos punto deslizado, y en el siguiente espacio repetimos el proceso para hacer otro pico, y así hasta dar la vuelta por todo el círculo y terminar la corona. Escondemos los hilos sobrantes y listo.

With the outfit ready, the next step was to do a photo shoot with Guillermina wearing it, in that my daughter helped me, because the cat got very restless, she wanted to run away 😂, and it was impossible to do it by myself.

Con el conjunto listo, el siguiente paso fue hacer una sesión de fotos con Guillermina luciendo su atuendo, en eso me ayudó mi hija, porque la gata se puso muy inquieta, quería huir 😂, y era imposible hacerlo yo sola.

The inspiration for this little queen outfit came to me because Guillermina recently turned 10 years old, and since she arrived she is the joy of the house ❤️, my queen 👑.

La inspiración para este conjunto de reinita me vino porque hace poco Guillermina cumplió 10 años, y desde que llegó es la alegría de la casa ❤️, mi reina 👑.

My daughter rescued her from the street when she was very small, she was about a month old, at first I didn't want her, but soon after she conquered me 😍.

Mi hija la rescató de la calle cuando estaba muy pequeña, tendría como un mes, al principio yo no la quería, pero al poco tiempo me conquistó 😍.

Although she is a bit chubby, I think she looks good in her outfit, what do you think?

By the way, when we were taking pictures of her, I realized that the crown can also function as a necklace 😊.

Por cierto, cuando le estábamos haciendo las fotos, me di cuenta que la corona también puede funcionar como un collar 😊.
