A MULTI COLORED ANKARA PRONT DRESS.

Good day everyone. Today, I will be sharing with you how I made this multiple colored Ankara print dress with an open back. Just like most of my outfit I share on this platform, this is also an original design. My simply moltivation for making this dress is coined from my love for flare dressing and the fact I haven’t made one for myself in a while.

Here are the measurements I uses

Length - 35
Half length- 17
Shoulder - 16
Bust - 35
Under bust- 30
Waist - 29
Nipple to nipple - 7

I started by drafting the upper part on my pattern paper. Then I transferred it to my lining and the fabric. Since it was an open back I was trying to make, I incorporated a bra cup.

—-

I attached the front piece together, and for the back i joined it with the lining.

I join the bra cups to the lining and turned it on my Ankara. I then proceed to making my sleeves .

—-

I proceeded to join it with the blouse and i joined the side before I drafted out the pattern of the sleeved and left extra 1 inch allowance for elastic. I attached the sleeves to my top.

—-

Lastly, I drafted the flare by folding the fabric in four and tracing out my waist circumference and the length.
I then attached it with the upper part, added the zipper and folded the down parts with a crinoline.

For yhe upper neck part i used a fastener rather than a botton.

Materials needed to make the dress:

  1. An Ankara print of different shades [preferably three shades].
  2. Lining half yard.
  3. Bra cups [your preferred size].
  4. Paper gum stay [optional].
  5. An elastic for the sleeves
  6. Crinoline
  7. And lastly zipper.

In conclusion, I really love the outcome of this dress, and hope you all do. Also for the most part, thank you so much for viewing. Until next time I remain GEMANGEL😊🌹.
