I know runners use elbow sleeves but those are 100% synthetic.

I used to be afraid of it too untik I realised that we do not need to worry about frayed edges 😁 I am using the sleeves now and really happy with it although the stitches could have been neater (without holes appearing as the fabric stretches) with a machine. But it is alright for now :)
Ah yes sports people use the ones that are usually tight and made of special material (or so the manufacturers said :D) to give the elbow the support it needs while they use the muscles there to prevent injury.
