Hola amigos. ¡Feliz lunes! Espero que estén todos muy bien. El día de hoy quiero compartirles un proyecto que realicé en varios ratos libres. Confieso que he estado tejiendo de una manera inusual. Me gusta empezar los tejidos y terminarlos el mismo día, sin embargo por una razón o por otra debo mantenerlos en pausa hasta por días.

Este proyecto surgió porque una amiga me ha estado motivando a tejer 🧶 algunos amigurumis y productos relacionados con el país. Ella está muy feliz de estar de nuevo en Venezuela y su alegría es muy contagiosa. Espero que les guste esta nueva creación y se animen a tejer alguna similar.

Hello friends, Happy Monday! I hope you are all very well. Today I want to share with you a project that I made in some spare time. I confess that I have been knitting in an unusual way. I like to start knitting and finish them the same day, but for one reason or another I have to keep them on pause for days at a time.

This project came about because a friend has been motivating me to knit 🧶 some amigurumis and country related products. She is very happy to be back in Venezuela and her joy is very contagious. I hope you like this new creation and are encouraged to knit some similar ones.

🇻🇪 Hace muchísimo tiempo que no tejía una Virgencita. Cuando me decidí a tejerla lo hice sin antes revisar los colores de hilos disponibles, por lo que la verán tejida en los colores crudo, blanco y tricolor de hilos pabilos. Usé el gancho de crochet de 2,25mm y la rellené con guata

🧶 El Amigurumi de la virgencita consta de dos partes: la primera parte que tejí corresponde al cuerpo y la cabeza. Se teje desde la base y culminación cerrando con aguja lanera la parte superior de la cabeza.

El hilo que usé es hilo pabilo color crudo, les cuento que estaba bastante áspero y me costó trabajo hacer las puntadas. Lo mejor de esto es que el tejido quedó bien cerrado y muy firme.

🇻🇪 It's been a long time since I knitted a little Madonna. When I decided to knit it I did it without first checking the yarn colors available, so you will see it knitted in the colors ecru, white and tricolor of pabilo yarns. I used the 2.25mm crochet hook and stuffed it with wadding

🧶 The Amigurumi of the little virgin consists of two parts: the first part I knitted corresponds to the body and head. It is knitted from the base and culmination closing with wool needle the upper part of the head.

The thread I used is ecru colored wick yarn, I tell you that it was quite rough and it was hard for me to make the stitches. The best thing about this is that the fabric was well closed and very firm.

🧶 La segunda pieza tejida fue el manto. Este se empieza a tejer desde la parte que cubre la cabeza. Es un tejido bastante básico, recomendado para ti que estás empezando con el tejido de Amigurumis.

🇻🇪 Recuerdo que la primera Virgen que tejí fue con una combinación de materiales, empleando la técnica mixta. Esa virgen tiene la corona hecha con material reciclado, el manto se lo hice con tela, un bello bordado decorativo y el cuerpo y la cabeza junto con otros detalles fueron tejidos. La persona que tiene ahora esa Virgencita se enamoró al verla. Estoy segura que aún la conserva.

🧶 The second piece knitted was the mantle. This one you start knitting from the part that covers the head. It is a pretty basic weaving, recommended for you who are starting with Amigurumi weaving.

🇻🇪 I remember that the first Virgin I knitted was with a combination of materials, using the mixed technique. That virgin has the crown made with recycled material, the mantle was made with fabric, a beautiful decorative embroidery and the body and head along with other details were knitted. The person who now has this Virgin fell in love when she saw it. I am sure she still has it.

🙋🏽‍♀️ A esta nueva virgen le coloqué en sus manos una linda y pequeña cruz. Adicional tejí para acompañarla una cruz más grandecita. También tenía tiempo sin tejer cruces.

🧶 Con el hilo tricolor hice los detalles del manto, tejí la aureola y las cruces. Este hilo también es pabilo, es un hilo de tres hebras, una amarilla, una azul y otra roja. Siempre que veo este hilo en las mercerías compro uno porque sé que me será muy útil para estos proyectos. Quería que la virgen tuviera colores que la identificaran con mi país.

🧶 Como pueden apreciar en la imagen, el contraste de color crudo y blanco del hilo no se ve tan mal. Usé dos perlas negras para los ojos las cuales primero fijé con pegamento y luego cosí ya que me sentía insegura, es preferible coserlas para que con las lavadas no se despeguen ni se pierdan.

🙋🏽‍♀️ Espero que les guste como se ve la virgencita. Yo encantada de tenerla sobre mi mesa junto con otros tejidos que he estado realizando.

🧶 With the tricolor thread I made the details of the mantle, the halo and the crosses. This yarn is also wick, it is a three strand yarn, one yellow, one blue and one red. Whenever I see this yarn in haberdasheries I always buy one because I know it will be very useful for these projects. I wanted the virgin to have colors that identify her with my country.

🧶 As you can see in the picture, the ecru and white contrast of the yarn doesn't look too bad. I used two black beads for the eyes which I first fixed with glue and then sewed on since I felt insecure, it is preferable to sew them on so that they don't come off or get lost in the wash.

🙋🏽‍♀️ I hope you like how the little virgin looks. I am delighted to have it on my table along with other fabrics that I have been making.

❤️ La virgen está tejida con todo mi amor. Mientras la tejía pedía por que la situación en el país ocasionada por las lluvias mejore pronto, especialmente en la zona oriental, en un estado vecino en el que los constantes aguaceros han ocasionado desbordamiento de los ríos y daños muy lamentables.

While I was knitting it I prayed that the situation in the country caused by the rains would improve soon, especially in the eastern part of the country, in a neighboring state where the constant downpours have caused rivers to overflow and very unfortunate damages.
