Facing the wrath of Mt. Canlaon... It's Amazing but horrible!

It was past 6pm last night when the serine suddenly made an alarm. It was a danger alarm for everyone to keep alert. Mt. Canlaon spewed its thick smoke way up the sky! The news immediately spread for everyone to get evacuated especially on the location at the baseline. My grandson relayed that they were having their afternoon coffee in La Blanca which is an inland resort and you can only look up to see the magestic Mt. Canlaon. Suddenly they heard a sound like big rocks grinding.

It was already dark yet they could still see the red sparks like red lightning! Then all of a sudden the blazing fire abruptly blew up! We already got used seeing the volcanoes with the white clouds crowning it's head. Sometimes black smoke ooze out but we're already used to it but this time it's totally different. The last time it happened like this was way back 1985 when we heard a big noise like a cannon. It was my first time to see such a sight that we all went out on the street watching silently as if waiting for the big "boom!"

It was so calm yesterday morning. See, it was sitting idly nobody expected it would suddenly erupt at night!

Our brothers and sisters who lived nearby where immediately rescued and the neighboring towns were immediately on alert if it gets worse! I called my helper to pack up their basic needs only.

My plants were already covered with thick ash fall and my helper took our two dogs to their farm.

From Cebu island, it looked like a gigantic image!

My cousin showed her arm with the falling wet ashes!

Our farmers would have been happy because the rain came at last but then, here's another calamity! These are phenomenons nobody can control. All we need to do is stay safe and follow the drills our local government had been conducting to avoid stampede and where to go. At least we should keep away within 5-10 km radius to be safe. The leaves of the vegetables will rot once they are covered with those acidic volcanic ashes.

The fumes last night was so thick and black which is harmful to the eyes and lungs. I hope and pray that it will stop sooner. I know for a fact that many outstanding crops will be damaged and our palatable flowing water will be unsafe for the time being. Our main source of water came from Mt. Canlaon. Natural spring water will be safer this time. Those who can afford will buy the bottled ones but how about our friends and families in the farms? It's such a chaotic incident!

My prayers for Canlaon and the neighboring towns at the back of the mountain.😥
