It was in 2018, when one of my female colleague noticed something differrnt in my behavior. It was regular office days, but I was feeling free, laughing, enjoying the days. Later in the evening, the strange comments made me to think. She even pinpointed the reason. She liked the new character in me. It was to hard to decode but her observation did made me to highlight the hidden aspect of me. My original shadow was out publicly and there is someone who take note of me.

In psychology, "shadow" represent hidden or repressed aspects of one's personality. I had been "running after shadows" during thaose days. I meant trying to confront or understand the unconscious parts of myself, which can be a challenging and sometimes futile endeavor. But I remember , it was the absence of my manager and some technical glitch at office server that made me out of my shackles and was feeling completelly free. That day was differrnt, I was at my jolly best. Through this post I encourages readers to question whether they are living their own authentic life or someone else's?
There are many people often struggle to discover themselves. There are certain situations where the individual's struggle to balance one's true passions with societal expectations. Sometimes people need to break free from playing pre-defined roles and embrace their authentic selves, even if it means going against the norm. My adventurous day at office, was the journey of a man who loses his creative spark by conforming to societal pressures and office decorum. I was looking to find the real shadow of myself that could define my character and redicover by embracing my true identity.
In my case, I was trying to fit into a conventional life, which is represented by his mundane corporate job. It was the daily routine affair, and to make a decent identity of myself. My team mates looked at me as mentor, and by being restricting my innerself into office culture, I was trying to mend my true identity. To please the management, to follow the official decorum, I was binded by various rules and regulation. But the moment, I find myself free, I get off guard and enjoyed and eventful day.
People can lose their "true identity" in a race, particularly when referring to societal pressures, because the intense focus on achieving a goal, often at the expense of others, can lead individuals to compromise their personal values, behaviors, and authentic self in order to "win" or fit in, sometimes resulting in a distorted sense of who they are. When striving to succeed in a competitive environment, individuals may feel pressured to conform to the dominant behaviors and attitudes of the group, even if they don't align with their own beliefs, leading to a loss of individuality.
The intense focus on achieving a goal can lead people to prioritize their own success above all else, potentially causing them to neglect important aspects of their identity like relationships, personal passions, and ethical considerations. While I was trying to manage my work life balance, I was missing out on my passion my true quality and above all, the freedom. I don't want to lag behind in the race, and ultimately lead to bounded by different rules and regulation.
It was an eventful day, that made me to think a lot about missing out on my identity. Thanks to the lady who notice of my nature and help me understand the important aspect. I again like to focus on my question. Are you also the one?
Peace!!
