The Tales from the Deep, The Kraken's Origin

For this one, I will have a bit of a longer intro than usual. I wanted to share my thought process, vent a little, and explain how my plans suddenly changed after a day of gathering information and content for this week's Community Engagement Challenge.

Originally, I was thinking of doing a more detailed lore dive on my most favorite card, The Kraken. But when tried to check his origin, I found nothing specific. Even the search section in Splinterlore doesn't even mention "The Kraken." So, I checked the links associated with it and found the timeline of Splinterlands lore:

I then realized how difficult to understand the Splinterlands lore is before Chaos Legion. For Chaos Legion, it's easy. It should be from the late "The Splintering" and the whole "The Chaos War." The Rebellion comes from mid "The Chaos War" to end.

The problem I had is what about the monsters and summoners in Alpha, Beta and Untamed packs? When were they in the Splinterlore? Are they even canon in the first place?

Answering those questions would prove difficult, more than one article is required. However, it is not impossible and to have more control over the lore, let me give you an updated lore of one of my most favorite monster from the past, The Kraken.

Since in The Kraken card lore, it said "They say that in the recent shifting of the Planet that has come with the Untamed, great schisms were opened on the floors of the seas." I can only think of one thing where the untamed was release in the Splinterlands Timeline. The spawning of the Untamed happen during "The Splinterling" but before the invasion of the Chaos Legion.

In my The Kraken Lore, I would provide less subtle hints and if you read the Splinterlore Timeline here: https://lore.splinterlands.com/the-world/timeline , you would be able to understand quickly where in the timeline the Untamed was release, The Kraken's abilities, and its sheer power from just reading the lore.

The Updated Lore of The Kraken

In the beginning, at the start of it all, way long before the Chaos Legion invaded the lands, the fight for Splinterlands bound the kingdom's summoners to find new powers, powers beyond the rift, allowing them to gain incomprehensible powers to gain advantage over their opponents. Runemancers were able to find a way to open portals beyond the Plane, access and control monsters that are not native to Azmare. Initially, the rift was fine, controllable, can be maintained, until it divided the continent into multiple regions and crack the planet and release behemoths to the land. Among these mammoths, one creature stood among all, one where no one survived upon encounter. This is the tale of The Kraken.

In the depths of the ocean, where ancient secrets slumber and mythic tales are born, a cataclysmic event has awakened an era of terror. The recent shifting of the Planet on the seafloor have unleashed behemoths from the core beyond, creatures so massive they defy comprehension. Among these leviathans is The Kraken, a monster of unfathomable power and malevolent intent. With tentacles larger than humans, its approach is like an unsettling darkness that spreads like a shroud across the depth's surface, as if night itself had come to claim dominion over the day.

When it rises from the depths, not even light can pass its gigantic body. Its colossal form casts a shadow so profound that even stars seem to fade in its presence. It demoralizes anyone who attempt to fight back and retaliates against its oppressors with ease. With effortless ease, The Kraken can snap ships in two with a single swipe of its gargantuan tentacle - as if crushing toys beneath its unyielding grip. The very thought of its wrath sends shivers down the spines of even the bravest Azmaré pirates. No one would dare enrage this malevolent creature of the sea and no one was able to live to tell the tale once they encountered The Kraken.

To prevent this monstrous entity from leveling entire cities, Gloridax sorcery was employed to contain its essence within a manageable form for tournament battles. Were it not for this intervention, summoning The Kraken would have been a catastrophic event, crushing all in its path beneath an unyielding tide of destruction. The summoners able to control this magnificent creature gained a power beyond understanding allowing them to stand from the top of the bodies The Kraken had slayed.

Pirate Captain: "Aye! What in Neptune's name is that?!"
Pirate Archer: "By me trusty bowstring, it's The Kraken, sire! We're doomed!"

Pirate Captain: "Shiver me timbers! It's as big as our ship! What sorcery had brought forth this behemoth of a beast?"
Pirate Archer: "I've never seen anything like it, Captain! Its tentacles are as long as our mast! We need to evacuate, cap'n!"

Pirate Captain: "Hold fast, me hearties! We will not go down without a fight!"
Pirate Archer: "Aye aye, Cap'n! I'll fire me bow until me arms ache!"

Pirate Captain: "This be no ordinary sea monster... we need to think of somethin' else if we're gonna survive this."
Pirate Archer: "Aye, cap'n, but what can we do against such power? It's like tryin' to stop a storm with a broken oar..."
