The History And Practice Of Magic.
- Arcanos Mayores: El loco, El Mago, La Sacerdotisa, La Emperatriz, El Emperador, El Sumo Sacerdote, Los Enamorados, El Carro, La Justicia, El Ermitaño, Rueda de la Fortuna, La Fuerza, El Colgado, La Muerte, La Templanza, El Diablo, La Torre, La Estrella, La Luna, El Sol, El Juicio, El mundo.

On the journey towards self-discovery through tarot where we find thousands of stories, theories, concepts , we can understand that hundreds of years have passed for, the human beings of these times, let's decipher the readings in a better way. In addition to understanding them, from their different origins, reading the cards has been organized with structures that facilitate the tarot reader's understanding and then give the message to the listener.
Tarot composition
It is exposed in a striking symbolic order, especially in a meditation process, that is why when reading the tarot, it is much more than simple cards, it is life itself.
There are 78 cards of which, in ancient times they were classified as "Triumphs" for 22 cards and "Palos or Pintas" for the remaining 56.
💫 ARCANUM 🌠
It is interesting because the word was not used at the beginning, it is a modern concept that was used in the history of language as arcanum from Latin that indicates "contain or enclose" and that later the cards that were known were called arcana such as "Triumphs" and "Palos o Pintas" thanks to a man named Jean-Baptiste Pitois (his pseudonym: Paul Christian), this French man who lived from 1811 to 1877 was a famous author of a book known as The History And Practice Of Magic. He was a former priest who revealed himself and from there he became an associate of Charles Nodier (famous writer of the romantic movement), that Nodier's interest in the occult was transmitted to Baptiste. Those writings in relation to the occult have become very popular, hence the name of Arcano was acquired for tarot cards. Expressing what is hidden, what is mysterious, in those times, many thought that the origin of tarot cards was Egyptian, so they wanted to show them as "A mystery that must be revealed"... This knowledge passed from generation to generation, it becomes a great story that we can all access, through the collective unconscious that becomes an archetype. Being a great source of knowledge where we can see ourselves reflected in them.
Structure of the Arcana currently
Tarot cards are made up of Major Arcana which are 22 cards and the Minor Arcana the remaining 56 cards.
- Major Arcana: The Madman, The Magician, The Priestess, The Empress, The Emperor, The High Priest, The Lovers, The Chariot, Justice, The Hermit, Wheel of Fortune, The Force, The Hanged Man, Death, The Temperance, The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon, The Sun, The Judgment, The World.
- Minor Arcana: They are made up of four groups of 14 cards each; Wands (Fire Element), Cups (Water Element), Swords (Air Element) and Pentacles (Earth Element).
The world of tarot is immense, that is why in the next publications I wish to continue exploring with you this wonderful art of card reading.
