Like 2023, 2024 was a good year for movies and series. Even now that we are a few days before 2025 we still have new movies and series coming out that are amazing. Today we will talk about a new series from the Star Wars Universe.
I want to be real with you and tell you that not all the movies or series of the Star Wars franchise were good. A lot had woke elements, poor script, and even defined the logic of Star wars. Thankfully we had some awesome ones like The Mandalorian and Boba Fett, while shows like The Acolyte are a total disgrace.
The newest edition of the series is the Skeleton Crew which will have 8 episodes in total. So far there are 4 out so we are halfway there. Let's talk more in detail about the plot!
Plot
The story follows 4 kids on their home planet living their daily lives while attending school. One is crazy about the Jedis, the other is a bit rebellious and the other 2 are like side characters if you wish. Soon enough they will find an abandoned star ship that is covered with mud and debris and they will get inside.
The ship is full of Skeletons of dead pirates and a robot that actually speaks like a pirate. Having no clue what they are doing they get off their planet and get lost in the galaxy. They soon visit a random planet in order to gather some info to get back home. There they will meet Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) who seems to have Jedi powers but at the same time, he led a pirate group and was now imprisoned.
Together they escape and we soon learn that the home planet of the kids is actually the only remaining hidden planet full of treasures that many people seek. Thus they make deal with Jod to help them return to their home and in exchange he will be able to locate the planet as well.
What I Liked and what I Didn't
Like in most Star Wars series the CGI, the costumes and the sceneries are amazing. It's literally like you are watching a Star Wars movie so for all the fans out there you will definitely feel the vibe. So far the acting is great even though i had my doubts as we we are talking about the kids. The only thing i didn't like is the character of Fern that for some reason they tried to make her look like a rebellious boy.
It's an interesting adventure with a lot of comedy elements that are quite enjoyable. Honestly, if this series was out in 80s or 90s then it would be the series/movie of the year as it definitely has that vibe! Overall, i would suggest it to everyone who likes Star Wars and this kind of movies/series but it's just that so far and not something outstanding. I would give it a 7/10.

It's almost 2025 and I still haven't seen any Star Wars. I feel like I'm low-key lagging behind when it comes to marvel series because it's been years I said I'll pick it up and I haven't yet. And yes, 2024 was indeed a good year for movies and series. A lot of amazing work of art released this year...
