As Julio delves deeper into the enigma of Nico's mind, he discovers that chess is much more than just a game for the young boy; it is a tool he uses to manipulate those around him. The relationship between Nico and his father, Carlos Albert, is particularly tense and complicated, full of resentment and constant challenges. Carlos, a successful businessman, is cold and distant, which increases Nico's sense of isolation and hostility.
As the plot unfolds, psychologist Julio Beltrán begins to uncover dark secrets in the Albert family. Nico seems to be playing a dangerous game of chess not only on the chessboard, but in real life, where every move is meticulously calculated to destabilise his surroundings. The tension builds as it becomes clear that Nico is willing to do anything to win this game, regardless of the consequences.
The film climaxes in a surprising and suspenseful denouement, where Nico's true intentions come to light, revealing the deep wounds and traumas that have scarred the Albert family. ‘Hijo de Cain" explores the darkest corners of the human mind, using chess as a metaphor for the internal struggle between control, power and repressed emotions.
The title reminds me of a Bible story, it seems interesting, I'll definitely watch it
