The perico as we commonly call in Venezuela the revoltillo, has its origins in colonial times, it is presumed that its name derives from the colorful tropical bird (parrot or parakeet), but this is not yet well documented. Join me in making this traditional and very popular dish at the table of any Venezuelan family.
- Harina de maíz
- Huevos
- Tomate
- Cebolla
- Queso rallado
- Plátano
- Aceite
- Sal
- Corn flour
- Eggs
- Tomato
- Onion
- Grated cheese
- Plantain
- Oil
- Salt
In a bowl place the flour and salt, add water little by little until you get a smooth and compacted dough. We make a small ball, flatten it to make our arepa, cook in a pan or frying pan over medium heat, remembering to turn them on both sides.
Cut the tomato and onion into cubes.
Fry the onion in a little oil previously heated for a few minutes, then add the tomato and let it cook for a few more minutes, beat the eggs and add them to the sauce, add salt to taste, stir continuously until the egg curdles (the consistency of the egg will depend on your taste).
Then we fry the plantain slices.
Finally we proceed to serve this delicious meal, and it is inevitable to taste it, because who will not like to wake up and be surprised with a breakfast like this, which is certainly very nutritious and rich in protein, giving strength to the saying "Breakfast like a King", come and enjoy this recipe that I'm sure you will love.
