Meat sauce recipe
Hola queridos lectores, espero que todos se encuentren bien. Para este post compartiré con ustedes un poco de mi experiencia en la cocina, debo admitir que en toda mi vida, jamás me había llamado la atención la cocina, no se me da muy bien, pero desde hace poco ha nacido un pequeño interés, que me impulsa a querer aprender. Obviamente sé hacer cosas básicas, como freír huevos, hacer arroz, pasta, entre otros, pero son cosas muy simples, quiero aprender a hacer cosas un poco más elaboradas. Para facilitar este proceso se me ocurrió pedirle ayuda a mi mamá, como mi comida preferida es la carne molida, le pedí que me enseñara a preparar eso.

For this post I will share with you a little of my experience in the kitchen, I must admit that in all my life, I had never called my attention to the kitchen, I am not very good at it, but recently a small interest has been born, that drives me to want to learn. Obviously I know how to do basic things, like frying eggs, making rice, pasta, among others, but they are very simple things, I want to learn to do things a little more elaborate. To facilitate this process I thought of asking my mom for help. Since my favorite food is meat sauce, I asked her to teach me how to prepare that.
Con la ayuda de ella y sus indicadores pude ir realizando cada uno de los pasos que tenía que seguir, los ingredientes que tenía que usar y así. Me ayudó probando la carne para que quedara de la mejor forma posible. Debo recalcar que está no es la primera vez que preparo carne, es la primera vez que lo preparo de esta forma, y quería compartir mi experiencia con ustedes. Fue un poco estresante porque realmente no me gusta cocinar, pero ese pequeño interés me animó a intentar; y es que no se me da muy bien tampoco, la comida siempre me queda muy salada, se me quema o me queda sin sabor, mi mamá siempre me dice que es porque no pruebo las cosas que preparo.
With her help and her pointers I was able to go through each of the steps I had to follow, the ingredients I had to use and so on. She helped me by tasting the meat so that it would be in the best possible way. I must emphasize that this is not the first time I prepare meat, but I had never done it this way, and I wanted to share my experience with you. It was a little stressful because I don't really like to cook, but that little interest encouraged me to try; and I'm not very good at it either, the food is always too salty, burnt or tasteless, my mom always tells me it's because I don't taste the things I prepare.
Algo que me motivó a cocinar, también, es que un amigo vendría de visita y quería preparar algo rico para invitarle el almuerzo, aunque al final comimos algo distinto. Quería intentar hacer algo que me quedara bien, entonces, me puse manos a la obra temprano, porque es un poquito laborioso el asunto, entonces hay que prepararlo temprano.
Something that motivated me to cook, also, is that a friend was coming to visit and I wanted to prepare something delicious to invite him for lunch, although in the end we ate something different. I wanted to try to make something that would be good for me, so I got to work early, because it is a bit laborious.

½ kg de carne |
1 Cubito de caldo de pollo deshidratado |
Sal al gusto |
Una pizca de azúcar |
Aceite |
2 Cebollas grandes |
8 Dientes de ajo (con la cáscara) |
Orégano |
3 Hojas de albahaca fresca |
1 Puré de tomate de su preferencia |

1 Dehydrated chicken bouillon cube |
Salt to taste |
A pinch of sugar |
Oil |
2 Large onions |
8 Cloves of garlic (with peel) |
Oregano |
3 Fresh basil leaves |
1 Tomato puree of your choice |
Comenzamos lavando tres tomates, los picamos y los ponemos a hervir, junto con sal y orégano al gusto, hasta que estén blanditos. Mientras los tomates se cocinan, picamos las cebollas en cuadritos muy pequeños y reservamos.
We start by washing three tomatoes, chop them and boil them, together with salt and oregano to taste, until they are soft. While the tomatoes are cooking, chop the onions into very small cubes and set aside.
Luego, en un sartén, machacamos los ajos previamente lavados, sin quitarle la cáscara, ponemos aceite y cuando esté caliente, agregamos la carne descongelada. A fuego medio alto, esperamos que se cocine y quede granosita. Cuando está así agregamos la cebolla, el caldo de pollo deshidratado, sal, las hojas de albahaca en pedacitos pequeños y otro poquito de aceite. Tapamos a fuego bajito.
Then, in a frying pan, we crush the previously washed garlic, without removing the peel, put oil and when it is hot, we add the defrosted meat. Over medium high heat, we wait for it to cook and become grainy. When it is cooked, add the onion, the dehydrated chicken broth, salt, the basil leaves in small pieces and another little bit of oil. Cover over low heat.
Mientras la carne se sigue cocinando, le quitamos la concha a los tomates con un tenedor (si aún siguen calientes es más fácil), y con la misma agua que les quedó, los licuamos y procedemos a colar para sacarles las semillas y quedarnos solo con lo líquido. Ya que la cebolla está cocida y nuestra carne está dorada, agregamos el licuado de los tomates y dejamos tapado hasta que reduzca, a fuego bajo.
While the meat is still cooking, we remove the shell from the tomatoes with a fork (if they are still hot it is easier), and with the same water that was left, we blend them and proceed to strain them to remove the seeds and keep only the liquid. Once the onion is cooked and our meat is browned, we add the tomatoes liquefied and leave it covered until it reduces, over low heat.
Luego, separamos la mitad de nuestro puré de tomate y llenamos el restante con agua filtrada y batimos, lo echamos a nuestra carne y volvemos a llenar el frasco hasta la mitad y agregamos eso nuevamente a nuestra carne. Agregamos orégano y azúcar, si vemos que hace falta, otro poquito de sal. La carne está lista cuando la salsa espese. Podemos acompañarlo con pasta.
Then, we separate half of our tomato puree and fill the remaining one with filtered water and whisk, pour it to our meat and fill the jar half full again and add that again to our meat. We add oregano and sugar, if we see that it is needed, another little bit of salt. The meat is ready when the sauce thickens. We can serve it with pasta.
De la preparación lo que menos me gustó fue cortar las cebollas, me picaron mucho los ojos, del resto quedó deliciosa. Con ese medio kg de carne comimos 3 personas un almuerzo y con lo que sobró, mi mamá hizo una pasta al horno que rindió para 6 personas. Espero que les haya gustado, hasta la próxima.
What I liked least about the preparation was cutting the onions, they stung my eyes a lot, but otherwise it was delicious. With that half kg of meat we ate 3 people for lunch and with what was left over, my mom made a baked pasta that served 6 people. I hope you liked it, see you next time.
