When there is a desire to return to a state of mind experienced in the past, I try to photograph in the same genre and in the same place where I experienced this state. So I'm tapping into the same wavelength.
I don't go back to the past, I don't feel nostalgic, I just catch that state code.
Of course, you can do the opposite – go back to the past and get nostalgic.
The forest graphics send me back to the spring of 2020, where I was in an inspired state.
Even despite the mismatch of the seasons, the monotonous graphics of the forest connect me to the same vibrations.
Occasionally, I visit places where I have experienced strong emotions in order to experience them again.
But it's not always possible to catch the same vibe.
Sometimes a new one comes, and sometimes I get upset because I haven't experienced anything at all.
I have already visited two different forests this winter.
And both forests turned out to be not only different in the picture, but also different in condition.
Although there and there I was looking for graphicity.
If the graphics in Mikhaltsevskaya Grove were close to postcard graphics, then the graphics in Peace Park are more abstract.
Weather conditions played a role – they decide a lot.
If the sunset light decorates the picture in the cold, giving it volume and saturation, then cloudy weather dissolves everything into a monotonous pattern.
And I love everything and accept any weather condition.
Different weather conditions create different states of mind. And that's great!
It’s so nice that you got to enjoy the forest and fresh snow. It must have been so peaceful.
