Over the past 10 months or so, I've established channels of communication and a proposal tracker in the Splinterlands Discord server. With the introduction of the Splinterlands DHF proposal and subsequently the SPS DAO making the decision to begin staking HIVE and encouraging users to get more engaged on chain, it seems like a good time to make one of these posts here as well. Let's take a look back at previously completed proposals and get status updates on the outstanding proposals where possible.
In Progress
Proposal System Updates has passed and the updates should go live within a couple of weeks.
TPG proposal for soulbounds has passed and I've been informed that it won't happen immediately but the team does plan to deploy this soon (no firm ETA).
Establish an SPS foundation has passed and I'm working with Dave to execute the proposal. Currently we're waiting on a subsequent proposal to apportion funds to pass which will enable the foundation to be set up.
Hire JPTR to develop SPS Chain has passed and development is underway. I've hosted a couple of DAOn Halls with PJ to get updates and you can find their first invoice here.
Hire SMC to develop 5 promos has passed and we'll see the first set of promo cards available starting on 9/10/24.
Cryptoeater's affiliate program rework proposal passed on 6/6/24 and the team is still working on developing the UI for the new affiliate program before this update is ready to deploy.
Ghost Card Liquidity Bots is underway and being rolled out over time as needed.
On Hold
Update Rentals to 1 DEC min has passed but the team has declined to prioritize it at this time as it may negatively impact the new player experience updates that are being worked on.
Convert ETH to USDC proposal is on hold until market conditions are met. Potentially overridden by the proposal to hire JPTR to develop the SPS Chain depending on market conditions.
Exchange Fund Proposal is on hold after the prerequisite of establishing a foundation was determined to be required.
Complete
Voucher reform proposal from TPG was implemented on 9/3/24.
Convert and power up swap.hive was completed on 8/22/24, which led to the SPS DAO staking around 116,000 HIVE.
Stop SPS:WETH incentives was implemented on 8/24/24, which stopped the LP incentives that the DAO was paying to the SPS:WETH pool entirely and led to the DAO creating its own SPS:ETH v3 position on UniSwap.
Treasurer Guidelines has passed and I have shared them with the treasurers to help set expectations. We will continue to lookout for new situations that could arise where we may need to run amendment proposals.
Matt promo card request passed and is being rolled into the new proposal to hire SMC to make 5 promos..
Burn NFTy Decks/DEC was completed on 7/2/24 and royaleagle proceeded to burn all of the cards, packs and DEC on the two accounts.
Matt's anti-bot farm proposal went live on 6/15/24 which created the Wild Pass.
Increase DEC:USDC liquidity was completed on 5/28/24 and the SPS DAO Treasurers subsequently deployed the liquidity.
SushiSwap Proposal was completed on 5/29/24 with some success. We were able to have SPS promoted via SushiSwaps website and social media accounts as well as join them for an X Space.
Reduce SPS:Swap.HIVE LP incentives was implemented on 5/14/24 and slightly reduced the SPS incentives being paid to the SPS:Swap.HIVE pool on Tribaldex.
Stop DEC:USDC LP Incentives was implemented on 4/2/24, which stopped the LP incentives that the DAO was paying out while the SPS DAO deployed it's own v3 liquidity position on which it earns fees.
Reduce SPS:BNB LP and Migrate Liquidity was implemented on 4/2/24, which reduced the overall incentives the DAO was paying for SPS:BNB liquidity and led to the creation of the DAO's SPS:BNB v3 liquidity position on which it earns fees.
Reduce SPS:WETH LP Incentives was implemented on 4/2/24 and then subsequently overridden by this proposal to stop SPS:WETHincentives entirely.
Voucher LP Adjustments was implemented on 3/19/24. This proposal removed the incentives from the Voucher:Swap.Hive pool entirely and instead started issuing rewards to the SPS:Voucher pool to incentivize holding SPS. Subsequently this proposal has become outdated by the Voucher reform proposal which has turned the Voucher token into an in-game coupon for claiming specific promo items.
Stop DEC:DAI LP Incentives was implemented on 3/19/24.
Tournament Overhaul passed on February 19th and I worked to develop a plan on how to implement the changes here. I am still gathering feedback, running stake-weighted polls and making further adjustments as needed over time.
Count all Frays Equally was implemented on March 12th and encourages guilds to fill all frays when joining a brawl. Previously guilds could leave frays empty and it would create a situation where there was no benefit for the guilds that did fill all of their frays.
Community Proposal Guidelines passed and I worked with team to get on site proposals and a notification system for them to be implemented on 2/6/2024 and I've now published the updated proposal guidelines in the SPS Whitepaper.
SPS Delegations for New Accounts was implemented on 1/23/2024 and the team now has a system in place to automatically management these delegations. We may need to consider increasing the amount of the delegations in the future.
Gladius Stones for Merits was implemented on 2/20/2024 and brought back the ability for users to purchase stones from the guild store with Merits.
Adjust Brawl Rewards was implemented on 2/6/2024 and has subsequently led to many more guilds participating in Tier 5 brawls.
Adjust Rentals to Minimum Pricing was implemented on 1/2/2024. Subsequently the DAO passed another proposal to update Rentals to 1 DEC min but the team has declined to prioritize it at this time as it may negatively impact the new player experience updates that are being worked on.
Nice summary Clayboyn, thank you for keeping it all organized!
Note:
Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame 😅
I highly doubt that $.00072 Daily Rental vs $.000072 is going to hurt anyone but it will provide a 10x benefit to the people renting out the cards...
However, it is kind of a moot point now that the bots are gone 😜
They ran the numbers based on new accounts starting with 3,000 credits and my understanding was that it would cause a problem with being able to rent for a month. I think that problem happens either way if rental prices go up, so yea I dunno. It hasn't been outright rejected though, so it could still happen.
It's ok without the bot horde lol
Thanks for sharing! - @azircon
Worth your weight in gold. 🤑
Great proposal summary. Crazy I found out about this new SPS DAO community from an X post linking to a Hive article of the newly formed Hive communities in the month of August. It was meant to be!
