First impressions of using IONOMY.COM for HIVE TRADES

in Hive.IO Community5 years ago (edited)

It was fast to sign up, easy to use and didn't require sensitive information and didn't cost me anything... seems strange... maybe it's just to get me hooked. But the exchange volume is low of course.

THE PROCESS

  1. Took me maybe 1-2 minutes to sign up to https://ionomy.com/
  2. All you need is an email and create a password ... then confirm email and log back in
  3. Inside of wallets you can click the little barcode thing and then get memo address
  4. So on PeakD you can make a transfer to "ionomy" and make sure to put that code in the memo

IONOMY FEEDBACK

EASY SIGN UP

SMALL VOLUME: But it has very little volume for HIVE to BTC trading pair. And I think that's understandable.

FAST ENOUGH: Hive got into my Ionomy wallet pretty fast... i'd say a bit under 2 minutes... and no fee. I did have to refresh to see it there.

TRUST: There are some users I think are solid users that say they know the Ionomy people and they trust them. But that's a third party sort of trust... meaning don't really trust any exchange to hold your tokens long term. Use them but don't store there long term

NO KYC? They have no KYC that I can see... not sure how they get away with that. They do say some features require more info from the user. Haven't come across it yet.

INTERFACE IS INTUITIVE :

NO FEE: Apparently i didn't get charged a fee... not sure how that works either.
Maybe it's an introductory thing
But withdraw fee is super low so that's nice.

AFFILIATE SYSTEM
Apparently they have one and here's my link
Not sure how it works
https://ionomy.com/en/aff/fb5ef1f48b708cdfe3f7936ccd022394

There is a subscription system that would get you 50% off withdraw and exchange fees but those aren't much for HIVE to begin with. I'll keep using a bit and see how it goes.

ANY QUESTIONS

This was not an indepth review just early impressions and key details for you. But let me know if you want to know more.

Thanks for the review! ionomy is really excited to welcome the HIVE community.

Part of the welcome package include zero-fee trading for the first week. And there's more to come! Stay tuned. [Hint: Airdrops to accounts that hold HIVE]

Some HIVE members have asked about ionomy's connection to the ION gaming ecosystem. Here's some background that explains how the exchange integrates with ION's token system:

The ION blockchain makes it easy for any game developer to tokenize in-game assets or in-game currencies.

Game developers can then list their gaming tokens on the ionomy Exchange. The token markets effectively turn in-game currency into Real Money Trading.

The ionomy platform also supports leaderboards for incentivized gaming. Users can play ION-linked mobile games then manage or trade their winnings on ionomy.

The ionomy Exchange is a crucial part of the infrastructure of the ION gaming ecosystem. It's also a great place to trade.

ionomy is adding more coins and more markets. The exchange has already added Steem, and there's now an active STEEM/BTC trading pair. ETH is in the works, which will open up the possibility for ETH token trading.

@ionomy Attempting to place an order doesn't seem to do anything. I tried several times. Looking at the browser console, when clicking the Sell button, the exchange seems to be sending a request to facebook.com - seems extremely suspicious. Can you please comment?

I'm excited to have signed up. In the past I've relied on @blocktrades who are no longer working with Steem & I'm looking to transfer my Steem to Hive. Once @ionomy is working with steem, again, I will be asking your for step by step instructions, please. Much appreciated!

Great intel! Much appreciated 🙌
No KYC, even in USA? 🤔

Seems strange right?

Yes. Makes me wonder why BlockTrades had to make changes.

They are fast and up and running in the first hours. We are up for a treat. Yes for Hive no fee just for us to start using their platform.

Thanks for being the canary in the coalmine. Never heard of them till they listed Hive, but then again, I hadn't heard of Trade Ogre till I got into Turtlecoin (which is a cool project btw). May give them a shot later down the road.

As long as you don't plan to leave coins on an exchange long there's not as much risk. The longer you leave them there... the more risk.

@peakd will be working with some other blockchains later this year to see what cool features they have to offer our users.

@jarvie, BAT would be super cool! Especially with Brave getting more popular. I noticed twitter had a BAT tip feature (I never had a twitter till about a week ago when all that started. lol)

When I first thought about it, I blew it off at first because that feature is kinda built in here, but then again, I've come across posts a year old that I wished I could upvote, or there could be people without accounts that might want to tip somebody's work....

Look forward to seeing what else y'all come up with!

I'm signing up right now, thanks Jarvie for getting this info out there..

I kinda like it. Nothing fancy, really simple.
Gets the job done.

I know these guys at IONOMY and I trust them and am very appreciative of their support for us.

Thanks. I'll give it a try right now.

thank you for the insight, but still need to see how the exchange going, hopefully it will trustworthy, keep only a small amount there.

I traded 20 HIVE @8000 statoshis yesterday, so I'm liking it.

it was so easy to get on to and no KYC.

Now you're making it sound too good to be true!

Maybe don't have too much money hanging around on there just in case!

I transferred some BTC over. It was credited pretty quickly. Bought some HIVE. Smooth sailing. Unfortunately, the transfer from ionomy to my HIVE wallet is a bit slow. An hour since confirming the withdrawal and it has not made it to my HIVE wallet.

Whohoo, just did my first conversion @ionomy - it was bloody easy to get done and nice clean site, easy to navigate. Thanks for the review @jarvie.

Good to hear about
I must say
