Transplanting my Kalanchoe pinnata, An easy to plant medicinal plant.

in Homesteading4 days ago

Hello Hive

It's a quiet Monday here, and it's not so funny that I am the only one in the entire compound. Everyone is busy going about their preparations for the new year. Most people like to follow their goals to the end, and I heard my neighbors talking about how they are working so hard to complete their building project in order to move into their property in the new year. How I wish that I were the one getting a new property with some space to build an animal house and a garden too.

Living in rented apartments often comes with limitations as to what you can plant in the compound and what the property owner tolerates.
I cannot have a massive garden here or plant as many fruit trees as I want because of the several restrictions.

By the way, my butt still feels sore and swollen from the diclofenac injections I have taken some few hours ago. I wonder why diclofenac does that to me most of the time. I'm starting to have some big lumps in my butts that aren't dissolving because of these injections. I broke down and don't have a choice but to take the injection, as it is the closest for now, since I wasn't wearing a cannula and would have preferred pentazocine instead.

Well, I really wish that someday a cheaper solution to the bone crisis in sickle cell can be found so that we can finally live a pain-free life. The current cure is a bone marrow transplant, and it is such a long and expensive process.

While a lot of different medicinal plants have been assisting people with various health conditions, it's difficult to find what works for sickle cell anemia. Only that we take a lot of fruits and vegetables to boost our blood and immune system. These only reduce the frequency of crises and do not eliminate them.

"Kalanchoe pinnata" here is good for arthritis conditions and also a bone challenge. My grandma is used to chewing the leaves raw. I learned that it is a wonder plant because of the various numbers of health benefits. I wish that it could also work for the bone crisis in sickle cell to minimize the pains, but that isn't so. Although it has numerous other health benefits.

The anti-inflammatory aspect is very important, making it a useful plant used by our herbal people here to treat wounds.

I had planted these a whole ago in a sack towards the last days in the month of November. I was so surprised to see that it survived the harsh weather conditions, although I was wetting it once in a while.

It has started to grow more roots and expand. The sack in which it is growing will be a restriction to it; hence I decided to transplant more of it in open ground.

It is an easy-to-grow plant, and all you need to do is break off some stem from the old plant and dip it in quality soil.

Once I have more of the plants here, I will make some quality research on how to utilize this plant more for greater health benefits.
