Hello Homestead Family

It is never a thing of joy bringing sad news of losses and setbacks in our farming journey but it's a good thing that we have alot of people here with vast knowledge and experience whom we can share some of these farm challenges with and they can give suggestions or help us to find possible solutions .

Above is the current state of some portions of corn plants within our neighborhood. This is a pest invasion as no amounts of insects could have done this much harm to the 🌽 corn

The leaves are all chopped off and this disease can lead to total loss of crops productivity.
I have once blogged about a similar pest invasion in the vegetable gardens I had planted in the house here, all the vegetables were destroyed completely as the leaves were first punctured just like this before the entire veggies got rotten away.

Yesterday after Sunday service I have longed to see the farm but have been down from migraine for a few days now. Having gotten a little bit of relive I decided to take a walk to the farms to check on the progress before I stumbled upon this current situation.

The corns are at the flowering stage and even the male and female tassels trying to emerge are equally rotten away. We can actually predict the fate of this corn.

The entire field here with this corn has been badly affected since disease like this spread like wild fire. It seems like this season is a season of serious pestilence in different crops and we have to watch out for whatever we plant with keen eyes. Moreover I think it's about time I do some digging online into the causes of this and potential solution.

The approach is to both search online and equally ask from Agric engineers, paradvebture I could find help online here too, I will appreciate every suggestions. Ever since i lost the vegetables i know how bad disease like this can lead to so much loss for anyone hence i realize this is an emergency situation that needs urgent attention to rescue the maize or prevent further spread of disease.

And it will be a wise decision to equally warn farmers within the neighborhood and the entire state as this has a potential to spread from one farm to the other like wildfire.

Thank you for coming around.
