Adventures In Homesteading (Day 176)

Hello Everyone!

A glitchy phone, Finally getting a full night's sleep, Another chilly evening, Too much wind in my face & A possible indoor stove solution!

Alright, I am on time this evening with my writing routine and hopefully can stick to my new schedule moving forward. Last night I wound up doing the actual posting part of things a wee bit later than I wanted to because I had to figure out how to fix my phone not being recognized by my newly installed OS which yup took up entirely too much time.

There are always some quirks to figure out on new systems and although I thought that I had everything setup and 'ready to go' I was apparently wrong in that regard. It really was pretty dang annoying and although I can usually troubleshoot such issues I had a heck of a time figuring that one out.

On a similar note the phone in general has been acting up a lot lately which probably has to do with a combination of the cold weather and the cracked screen. I dunno how I manage with all the aggravation between it being glitchy, to it's wifi hotspot randomly failing to work, to trying to read between all the cracks but so far I have yet to smash it into little pieces just to be rid of it!

Anyways, last night I got a small reprieve from the super cold weather and even managed to sleep a good six hours even though I awoke in the middle of it for a few minutes before I could fall back asleep. Tonight the temperature is going to plummet again and although it will stay one degrees above freezing that is not all that much of a relief considering the windchill.

So far the worst that the cold weather has done is make me constantly apply chapstick to my lips to keep them from cracking. By and large I think that has been such a challenge because of the west facing hill that I am on and the way the cold wind is very much 'in my face' every time that I put the dogs in or out of the dog yard or have to make coffee on the stove outdoors.

I am still debating on whether to bring the stove inside or not but at this point I might throw caution to the wind and do it anyways. The best idea that I have had so far is to use some 'reflectix' insulation above the stove (affixed to the interior ceiling of the tent) to prevent it from potentially catching the fabric on fire... or just melting it.

Well, this is going to be another short entry. I hope that everyone is doing well. Ta ta for now.
