Hello to all members of this community and art lovers! Today I will show you two exhibitions that were in the same room of the Armando Reverón Museum of Contemporary Art (Caracas-Venezuela).

The first exhibition was small in terms of the number of works, but they were large, so they filled the space quite well. I imagine that, due to the type of material, the lighting in this section was rather dim, which not only made photographing the works a feat, but also gave them a somewhat eerie aura. So most of the visitors walked right past those somber and seemingly abstract pieces (in fact, a gentleman I spoke with told me the same thing, as he didn't like the way they looked 😅).

This exhibition was titled Gesture and Matter, and the works were created after World War II, an event that spurred the growth of artistic movements seeking to express strong and complex emotions using unconventional materials to depict the chaos and destruction left in its wake. I admit I felt quite uncomfortable looking at the works; they truly have an emotional impact, especially considering what people had to endure when they were created. They are beautiful in their own way, so I'm glad the photographs turned out quite well despite the dim lighting, as it was rather dark.

On the other hand, there was the exhibition POP at Full Volume. In contrast to the previous works, those exhibited in this space were based on creations that emerged as part of the industrial revolution, where billboards, comics, logos, and posters gave rise to the Pop Art movement, which influenced many artists of the time.

The colors, shapes, and concepts of each sculpture invite the viewer to contemplate the work from various angles, and many reflect the beliefs and experiences of the artists who sought to capture situations that marked them at the time. It was quite interesting to see, especially because of the variety of materials used. Sculptures always impress me because I end up imagining what the artists' studios must be like and the entire creative process behind them.

One of the fantastic things about the capital is the sheer number of art exhibitions you can find in the various museums and galleries. I was so impressed because in my previous city, the museums weren't functioning and there weren't any galleries, so I quickly became a little "obsessed" with the idea of ​​attending every art exhibition I found online. Although, I've calmed down now, haha, don't get me wrong, I love going to these places; they're incredibly relaxing and inspiring. But I also feel I need to immerse myself in my own artistic discovery, and thanks to going to these spaces, I feel like I've been gradually finding inspiration 😌

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes del arte! Hoy les mostraré dos exposiciones que se encontraban en la misma sala del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Armando Reverón (Caracas-Venezuela).

La primera exposición era pequeña en cantidad de obras, pero las mismas, eran de grandes dimensiones, así que ocupaban bastante bien el espacio. Me imagino que, debido al tipo de material, la iluminación en esta parte era algo tenue, lo cual no sólo hacía el proceso de fotografiar las obras una proeza, sino que les daba a las mismas un aura "tétrica". Así que la mayoría de los asistentes pasaban de largo cuando miraban aquellas obras tan lúgubres y aparentemente abstractas (de hecho, eso mismo me comentó un señor con el que llegué a hablar, pues no le agradaba el aspecto que generaban 😅).

Esta exposición llevaba por nombre Gesto y Materia y las obras, fueron realizadas luego de la segunda guerra mundial, evento que hizo proliferar movimientos artísticos en donde se buscaba exteriorizar emociones fuertes y complicadas, utilizando materiales fuera de lo común que permitieran mostrar lo que dejaba a su paso el caos y la destrucción. Admito que me sentí bastante incómoda observando las obras, realmente generan un impacto emocional y más si consideras lo que tuvieron que vivir las personas en el tiempo en que las obras fueron concebidas. Son hermosas, a su forma, así que me alegro de que las fotografías quedasen bastante bien a pesar de la iluminación escasa del espacio, porque se veía bastante oscuro.

Por otro lado, se encontraba la exposición POP a todo Volumen. En contraste con las obras anteriores, las exhibidas en este espacio, se basaban en creaciones que surgieron como parte de la revolución industrial, en donde las vallas publicitarias, los comics, logos y afiches, hicieron que el movimiento artístico Pop Art, apareciera e influenciara a muchos artistas de la época.

Los colores, formas y conceptos de cada escultura, invitan al espectador a contemplar la obra desde diversos ángulos y varias, guardan las creencias y vivencias de los artistas que buscaron de plasmar situaciones que los marcaron en su momento. Fue bastante interesante de ver, sobre todo por la variedad de materiales utilizados. Siempre me impresionan las esculturas, porque acabo por imaginarme cómo debe ser el taller de los artistas y todo el proceso creativo detrás.

Una de las cosas fantásticas que tiene la capital, es la cantidad de exposiciones de arte que pueden encontrarse en los distintos museos y galerías. Estaba tan impresionada porque en mi anterior ciudad, el museo no funcionaba y no habían galerías, así que no tardé en ponerme un poco "obsesiva" con la idea de querer asistir a toda exposición de arte que encontrase en redes. Aunque, ya me calmé jaja no me malinterpreten, me encanta ir a estos espacios, me es sumamente relajante e inspirador, pero considero que también necesito meterme de lleno en mi propio descubrimiento artístico y gracias a acudir a estos espacios, siento que me he ido inspirando poco a poco 😌
