Being An Indoor Person Isn't Boring.

There are so many misconceptions about people with indoor personalities, and it's one of the reasons why people like George don't enjoy talking about that part of him except when among those who understand and won't jump to conclusions about his personality.

You are just being the indoor type because you aren't rich enough to flex as you want—people with that personality are lazy and boring—they aren't creative or bold enough to be out there and so on. I have heard these things numerous times and just laugh because they are all false assumptions.

I have always been like this since I was a kid and definitely the odd one in the family because my siblings are the outdoor type. They prefer moving from one place to another, and the only time they are eager to come home is when they are tired of staying outdoor.

You will only find me outside when running errands or playing football because it's one sport I love a lot. Whenever my friends just want to roam around without purpose, you won't find me among them. Sometimes, I even tell my mom to pretend to send me on errands so I can turn down going out with my friends, and that's just who I am. I find so many things stressful, not just physically, so it's better to stick to what works for me.

I am an adult and can do whatever I want today, but staying indoors is still my thing. The quietness and peace that come with it can't be quantified, and that's exactly what I need in this noisy world we live in.

In the environment of where I live, there are times when people ask if I traveled because as long as I don't have something very important outdoors, you won't see me. On a regular day, I go out very early in the morning to exercise or feed my fish, and I don't have any tasks outdoors until late in the evening.

Like I mentioned earlier, there are so many people who think being an indoor person is terrible, but it's not true. My space is always my favorite place to be, and being outdoors when it's not important doesn't make me feel comfortable. That's when you see me distracted or trying to rush through things, which can be terrible.

When I am out for business, I know it is business. When it's for a friend or family, I know it's for my loved ones, and it has to be very important.

Aside from the comfort, silence, and peace I get as a reward for being indoors, I realized that I am more productive indoors. I have said it several times in my blog that it's hard for me to reach my full potential, especially when it comes to mental reasoning in a noisy or rowdy environment, and that's just the perfect description of stepping out of your home in Lagos.

Sometimes, I think I am just stuck with my childhood habit, but trying to change my personality has never yielded good results. I have lost friends because of this personality, and it's sad they won't just understand that this is me.

Fortunately for me, I have those friends who are understanding and non-judgmental. They invite me to only important events, with no pressure on hanging out, and even sometimes, we visit our homes to have fun.

I have numerous indoor activities, and a lot of my friends on Hive should know them by now. I enjoy cooking, making crafts, and writing whenever I am indoors. I watch movies, play games, and all these activities are never boring to me. Being an indoor person doesn't make me lazy or boring. It makes me a lot happier, and I am comfortable living this way.

I love the way you think, George. Truly, a lot of people are of the misconception that being an indoor guy it's because you aren't rich enough to go out as you'd want. But when you narrate that it's an intrinsic behaviour of yours stemming from back when you were a child, I wonder what they'd say then.

This was lovely to read, friend. Nicely done.🌺

These misconceptions are just on a different level and I understand why. A lot of people believe that when you are not living like them, you are not on the bright side of life.

Being an indoor person doesn't take away fun or anything, it's just that we are enjoying life in different ways. Thanks for the beautiful response to my post, I really appreciate it

Some people become indoor people because they are not capable enough to maintain outdoor activities, and it's their weakness. But some people choose to be indoor people because they want to, and they can maintain outdoor activities well if they want. But they ignore it as they feel most outdoor activities are useless. It seems you are one of them.

We choose to be indoors for different reasons and we can't look down on the financial aspect as staying outdoors costs a lot really.

I find it quite exhausting and that's not a good sign for me. I love the peace that comes with being indoors- no hassle.

Hmm. Financial matter need to be considered carefully and it's not a silly matters in my eyes.

We are both indoor persons bro and proud about it. Don't bother explaining it to those who don't understand what we enjoy, they don't know what they are missing 😁

Who wants the noise and hassles of the outdoors 😁

Honestly they are missing out really and that's just life. People who love being outdoors think we are living a boring life while we think they are living a stressful life.

It's just about sticking to what works best for us.

That's true

Sometimes people ask what do you do when you are indoors, don't you ever get bored? I am never bored ooo 😂. From phone to laptop, from one app to another and some offline stuffs and before you know the day is far gone.

That's right bro, I always have my task lined up for the day so when I add my fun time to it, the day is gone.
