Soy Maily, un ser dividido

Cuba, familia y amigos
Mi nombre es Maily, tengo 22 años. Soy cubana, y como tal, mi identidad se halla en Cuba, en sus calles, personas y costumbres. Me gusta la música cubana, en especial el bolero y el feeling. Desde pequeña empecé a marcar los pasos básicos de bailes populares cubanos como la rumba, el guaguancó, la salsa y el chachachá; me acompañaban amigos de la escuela y de la comunidad. Lo anterior es algo que aún no me abandona, sobre todo si se baila con amigos, aunque ya se hace menos. El dominó para mí es un “juego que va en serio”, el mismo además de divertir, sirve para unir a la familia y amigos, y lo he podido comprobar. Como buena habanera, me gusta tumbarme en el muro del malecón y dejar fluir las ideas, los encuentros y sus conversaciones, la risa y el llanto. Adoro la playa, su clara agua y empanizarme en la arena.
Cuba enlaza casi todo aquello que amo, en especial mi familia y sus fuertes mujeres, de las cuales estoy muy orgullosa.

Soy psicóloga, formada en La Universidad de La Habana. El retrato en la escalinata de La Universidad, de la muchacha que le agarra la brisa, en busca de oportunidad y crecimiento personal y profesional (esa soy yo).

La psicología más que profesión, para mí, es una forma de vivir. Soy profesora de la Facultad de Psicología, imparto las asignaturas "Psicología de La Educación y "Orientación y Terapia Sexual y de Parejas". Me gusta estudiar la sexualidad humana, entendiéndola como una hoja en blanco (para cada ser humano), en la que cabe todo lo relacionado con el orden del vínculo y la satisfacción humana. En sentido general me gusta educar, y pienso que mi entrada en Hive es otra manera de posibilitarlo.

Me gusta el trabajo social y grupal, y he tenido la oportunidad de coordinar talleres para todos los grupos etarios (niños, adolescentes, adultos medios y mayores), gracias a Proyectos en los que he estado insertada, como el Proyecto Escaramujo, y otras actividades organizadas por la Sociedad Cubana de Psicología; especialmente me llena el trabajo con adultos mayores. No obstante, me encuentro inclinada hacia la psicología clínica.

Mis prácticas como terapeuta sexual y de parejas en el CENESEX contribuyeron a mi crecimiento profesional, y a su vez me dejaron con la sed de una terapia más completa, que no solo elimine el síntoma (malestar) sino que se detenga en por qué el paciente ha vivido con ese malestar si le hace daño. Lo anterior se ejemplifica con una planta; cortar una rama no evita que nuevas ramas crezcan, y si la planta se halla enferma, no evitaría la aparición de nuevos daños, aunque en principio los alivie. De esta forma empezó mi interés por el psicoanálisis, no solo como un atractivo teórico, sino para mi formación terapéutica. Las lecturas a Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Jacques-Alain Miller, y otros estudiosos del psicoanálisis, así como conferencias impartidas en mi Universidad y en otras partes del mundo (de forma virtual), guían mi entrada por este inquietante y complejo mundo.

Yo participando en una conferencia de la sección de Psicoanálisis Lacaneano de la Sociedad Cubana de Psicología/ la autora de la foto (profesora de la facultad) sabe de su uso en esta plataforma.

He podido estudiar el constructo social “género”, lanzándome hacia el polémico, conflictivo e incluso peligroso tema. La complejidad es lo que me empuja a su estudio y al debate. Mi tesis fue sobre mitos del amor romántico en cuentos de hadas clásicos y su análisis desde una perspectiva de género. He estado inmersa en estudios sociales sobre género y medios de comunicación, violencia de género, masculinidades, diversidad sexual y de género, mitos del amor romántico y de la violencia de género, entre otros. Además, me gustaría abordar, desde el punto de vista clínico, la experiencia de atención a mujeres que sufren violencia de género.

Literatura
Cuando escribo firmo como ESTRO, entendido como musa e inspiración, otras veces lo hago con mi nombre y primer apellido. Uno de mis primeros poemas fue escrito para un amigo, en la misma le doy las “gracias por el estro”, ya que me leyó y ayudó en mis primeros intentos de escribir (un poco más serio). La poesía ha sido un modo de encontrarme, e incluso me ha permitido estrechar lazos con otros. Es una poesía generalmente libre, y que enmarca el sujeto dividido que habito. Una poesía que muchas veces expresa el molesto vacío que tenemos los seres humanos, pero necesario para impulsarnos hacia la búsqueda de la engañosa completitud. Ojalá deseen leerla como yo deseo escribirla. Por otro lado, suelo escribir micro cuentos eróticos; el gusto por la sexualidad me persigue incluso en lo literario; siendo lo erótico otra manera de expresarnos que ha tenido numerosos intentos de sepultura.

La presentación no es más que mi valoración sobre mi experiencia vital y los resultados de la misma. La personalidad es estable, y a la vez cambiante; por lo tanto, no seré siempre la misma. Por lo anterior, en el cambio personal que me ocupa, espero en esta plataforma desarrollar lo que me gusta (dicho arriba), lo que no me alcanzó a decir, e incluso aquello que me falta por descubrir. Hive pudiera ser una inspiración hacia la aventura y aprendizaje de nuevas forma de comunicar. Espero propiciar un cambio positivo en quienes me leen, por muy pequeño que sea.

I’m Maily, a divided being

Cuba, family, and friends

My name is Maily, and I’m 22 years old. I’m Cuban, so my identity is in Cuba, in its streets, people, and customs. I like Cuban music, especially bolero, and feeling. Since I was a little girl I started to mark the basic steps of popular Cuban dances such as rumba, guaguancó, salsa, and chachachá; I was accompanied by friends from school and the community. The above is something that still doesn't leave me, especially when dancing with friends, although it is less common now. Dominoes for me is a "serious game", besides being fun, it’s used to gather family and friends, and I have been able to prove it. As a good habanera, I like to lie on the wall of the Malecón, and let ideas flow, meetings and their conversations, laughter and tears. I love the beach, its clear water, and getting soaked in the sand.

Cuba links almost everything I love, especially my family and its strong women, of whom I am very proud.

My career and its traces

I am a psychologist, graduated from the University of Havana. The portrait on the steps of the University, is of the girl who catches the breeze, in search of opportunity, personal and proand fessional growth (that's me).

For me, psychology is more than a profession, it is a way of life. I am a professor at the Faculty of Psychology, I teach the subjects Psychology of Education and Sexual and Couples Orientation and Therapy. I like to study human sexuality, understanding it as a blank sheet of paper (for each human being), on which everything in the order of human bonding and satisfaction is drawn. In a general sense, I like to educate others; and I think that my entry in Hive is another way to make it possible.

I like social and group work. I have had the opportunity to coordinate workshops for all age groups (children, teenagers, middle and older adults), thanks to projects in which I have been involved, such as the Escaramujo Project, and other activities organized by the Cuban Society of Psychology; I especially enjoy working with older adults. However, I find myself inclined towards clinical psychology.

My practices as a sex and couples therapist at CENESEX contributed to my professional growth, and left me with the tirst for a more complete therapy, which not only eliminates the symptom (discomfort) but also stops why the patient has lived with that discomfort if it hurts him/her. The above is exemplified with a plant; cutting a branch does not prevent new branches from growing, and if the plant has a disease, it would not prevent the appearance of new damage, although in principle it would alleviate it. This is how my interest in psychoanalysis began, not only as a theoretical attraction, but also for my therapeutic traiing. Readings to Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Jacques-Alain Miller, and other scholars of psychoanalysis, as well as lectures given at my University and in other parts of the world (virtually), guide my entry into this disturbing and complex world.

I have been able to study the social construct "gender", throwing myself into the controversial, conflictive, and even dangerous subject. The c,omplexity is what pushes me to study and debate. My thesis wa myths of romantic love in classic fairy tales and their analysis from a gender perspective. I have been immersed in social studies, gender, and media, gender violence, mascu,linities, sexual and gender diversity, myths of romantic love and gender violence, among others. In addition, I would like to address, from a clinical point of view, the experience of care for women who suffer from gender violence.

Literature

When I write I sign as ESTRO, understood as muse and inspiration, other times I do it with my name and first surname. The beginning is explained with one of my poems, which was written for a friend, in it I thank him "thanks for the inspiration", he read me and helped me in my first attempts to write (a little more serious). Poetry has been a way for me to find myself, and has even allowed me to strengthen ties with others. It is a poetry that is generally free, and that frames the divided subject that I inhabit. A poetry that often expresses the annoying emptiness that we human beings have, but necessary to push us towards the search for deceptive completeness. I hope you wish to read it as I wish to write it. On the other hand, I usually write erotic micro stories; the taste for sexuality pursues me even in literature; being the eroticic another way of expressing ourselves that has had numerous attempts of burial.

The presentation is nothing more than my assessment of my life experience and the results of it. Personality is stable, and at the same time changeable; therefore, I will not always be the same. Therefore, in the personal change that occupies me, I hope on this platform to develop what I like (said above), what I did not manage to say, and even what I have yet to discover. Hive could be an inspiration, towards the adventure and learning of new ways of communicating. I hope to bring about a positive change in those who read me, however small it may be.
