En esta oportunidad les traigo unos consejos para recuperar botellones plásticos para almacenar agua potable.

En mi trabajo como ingeniero de obra debo garantizarles el agua potable al personal obrero que allí labora y todos los días debo recargar los botellones con agua para su consumo.

In my job as a site engineer, I have to guarantee drinking water for the workers there, and every day I have to refill the water bottles for their consumption.

El día de ayer me di cuenta que ya los botellones que estamos usando tenían una capa adherida al fondo y que no salia cuando lo limpiaban con chorro a presión en el sitio de recarga.

Esto ocasionaba que el agua se veía con minúsculas partículas blancas flotando en el agua, lo cual no es bueno para ser consumido.

Yesterday I noticed that the bottles we are using already had a layer adhered to the bottom and that it did not come out when they were cleaned with a pressure jet at the refill site.
This caused the water to have tiny white particles floating in the water, which is not good for drinking.

Así que recogí los tres botellones más contaminados, me los lleve a la casa y procedí a aplicarles una fórmula que usa mi esposa @morepina para desmanchar objetos plásticos.

Ella utiliza una taza de jabón en polvo y un buen chorro de cloro diluidos en media jarra de agua. Esto hace mucha espuma y se le agrega a cada botellón. Si desea llenarlos más debe repetir esta dosis varias veces. Mientras más llenos queden mejor será el resultado.

She uses a cup of soap powder and a good squirt of bleach diluted in half a jug of water. This makes a lot of suds and is added to each bottle. If you want to fill them fuller you must repeat this dosage several times. The more you fill them the better the result will be. So I picked up the three most contaminated bottles, took them home and proceeded to apply a formula that my wife @morepina uses to stain plastic objects.

Luego se sacuden para que se impregne todo el interior del botellón y se deja remojando un día completo, cuidando de moverlos constantemente para aflojar el sucio de las paredes. En mi caso los dejé remojando toda la noche y en la mañana terminé uno porque no podía dejar a la gente sin agua.

Transcurrido el tiempo del remojo, utilicé un tubo con un paño o mopa atado en su extremo para meterlo dentro del envase y friccionar varias veces el fondo.

Then they are shaken so that all the inside of the bottle is impregnated and left to soak for a full day, taking care to move them constantly to loosen the dirt from the walls. In my case I left them soaking all night and in the morning I finished one because I could not leave the people without water.
After the soaking time had elapsed, I used a tube with a cloth or mop tied at the end to put it inside the container and rub the bottom several times.

Luego enjuagué varias veces para quitar el cloro y quedó el botellón limpio y desinfectado.

Otra opción es agregar un poco de arena dentro del botellón para que cuando se sacudan la arena haga fricción por todas las superficies y arranque el sucio pegado.

Another option is to add a little sand inside the bottle so that when they are shaken, the sand rubs on all the surfaces and removes the stuck dirt.
